Chapter Twenty-seven

Kayla curled over in the seat and pulled her oversized knitted cardigan around her. It was freezing. It felt like her blood iced over. Anthony wouldn't turn off the air conditioners. She tumbled to reality, her eyelids fluttering but her eyes not turning open. She was swinging; the cold felt natural than artificial. Her eyes flipped open and she took in her surrounding.

It took her wee seconds to realize what was going on, still the situation was vague. She fetched her phone from the table. It was 10:39. Jeez, how did she sleep all the way from two o'clock to ten? She released a breath, she couldn't think of how she slept until night.

She retreated to her bedroom after she finished in the kitchen. Without breaking strides, she threw the diaries and albums on the sofa, pulled her cardigan while walking to the bathroom to ease herself, and threw it on the sofa.
