Chapter 13

The crushing

pressure on the back of my foot was so painful that it traveled through my

body. Cold sweat crept out on the back of my neck.

However, the

pain I felt did not all come from that. Part of the pain came from my heart.

The more

Melissa hurt me, the more my heart hurt.

For 19

years, I've treated her as my salvation. She was reason I still held hope to

this world, and now that reason was gone.

Our 20 years

of friendship was nothing compared to a man.

I felt

betrayed.

I glanced at

Melissa. She hadn't bothered to disguise the malice or hatred in her eyes. For

a moment, I felt that she had deliberately created a false sense of friendship

between us. In fact, she had never once regarded me as a friend.

I suddenly

remembered that a few days ago, when I was scrubbing the floor, Melissa had

told Ellen to let me take her place in this marriage and that she didn't want

to marry that devil. That Enzo wasn't good enough for her anyway and that I was

just their slave and it would be more

Author, if you want a successful book, stop making your FL's weak!!! It's one thing for a couple of chapters in order to give us a dialog, but you have already made the claim that she's got Alpha blood. With Enzo as her fated mate, she would be stronger and able to stand up to Melissa.

Yep I agree!!! And the author is portraying this feared Alpha as dumb!!! Like he can't tell that she's being threatened? If I was Enzo I would mark her now and make the bond stronger, in order for her to stand up to Melissa

This is getting dumb how is she more afraid if Melissa when Enzo is the most feared Alpha?? And how can she kill u u will be in his packs territory!! Plus who will willingly give up there mate to keep a friend that’s n longer ur friend!!
