CHAPTER 6: Dead?

SCARLETT'S POV

'Scarlett, what's going on?' Sky nudged me fearfully as the stranger drive us to an unknown location with his car. I was too lost to remember how I got inside the car of a complete stranger and Sky was too fidgety to think straight.

I look sideways at her and pressed her fingers against mine.

'Look Sky, I don't know either but I believe everything would be fine.' She raised her teary eyes to mine and I nodded smilingly at her.

'You think so?' She asked holding my hands in hers.

'I believe so.' I said firmly.

I really want to believe all this isn't real. I just want to open my eyes and find myself in my room with Skylar, gossiping about the latest events in town. I just want to wake from this unimaginable reality and laugh over the silly dream I'd just had.

'You promised sugar, everything have to be fine!' She leaned her head on my shoulder and tears cloud my eyes that instant as that familiar feeling surged inside me again, screaming disagreement to my feigned faith.

Moments later, the car pulled up at a building in another unfamiliar area of the city and my fear increased. I repeatedly reminded myself that I needed to stay strong for Sky's sake. We both can't be so antsy in a situation as this.

The hooded and masked stranger motioned us into the quiet farmhouse.

I believe I'd be finding answers to the millions of questions troubling my mind, soon.

My eyes scanned around the building as we walked in. It was surprisingly decent looking unlike how it's exterior made it seem. The living room was equipped with all the necessary facilities and each item in it was topnotch.

'Seems like our kidnapper is wealthy. I'm glad I don't get to suffer,' Sky whispered beside me.

I suppress the urge to giggle. Even in such situation Sky's still able to pull off a joke.

I look ahead and saw a woman having platinum blond hair, standing arms crossed, with her back to us as she stared at a photo on the wall.

I furrowed my brows as I watched her and on instinct, I turn to glance at the guy who brought us here just in time to see him taking off his mask and pulling down his black hood.

   'WTH! Mason?!' I gasped.

   'My apologies, Miss.' He bowed.

'Woah!' Sky chuckled. 'Am I supposed to feel relieved now or to feel the opposite?' She said.

'I guess the answer would be the former.'

We both turned wide eyes to the woman and Sky almost fainted from shock.

   'Aunt Aimee?'

   'Mom?!'

We said simultaneously.

HARRIET

'Die! Die!! Die!!! ' She tighten her grip on Harriet's neck causing her to choke and struggle for dear life.

Harriet tossed and wiggled under her firm grip as she tried to break free from her grasp. Her hands were held up above her head against a mysterious, hard surface and the woman was bent on choking her to death. She desperately wanted to hold unto her life as she struggled for air to say the word she dreaded saying.

   'Pl...ple...plea....' She tried to beg.

'Please? Please really?!' The woman laughed maniacally and tighten her grip on Harriet's neck again, causing her eyes to bulge out in terror. 'You don't deserve that word ever and you should never mention it either. Hahaha! For all the evil you've done, how many apologies do you think could solve it? How do you intend to purge yourself clean for the countless evil deeds you've carried out on  innocent people?! No matter what you do, vengeance must be made!!!' She thundered.

With a strength far superior and beyond measure to Harriet's desperate struggles, she grasped her wrist and began pulling her upwards, towards the cliff.

Although she was finally eased from the choking, Harriet couldn't care about breathing fine when she looked ahead and back at her captor. There was no denial that she was doomed!

The woman's eyes were bloodshot red, and her suppressing yet powerful aura gave off a strong killing intent that made Harriet's heart paled out as her knees grew weaker.

She didn't want to imagine what this bloodthirsty woman would do to her once they get to that cliff; it was only a matter of seconds before they do.

Harriet began screaming and begging with all the energy she had left, in utmost panic as she soon found herself kneeling at the foot of the high mysterious and terrifying cliff. Her hair was a total mess. Sweat and tears united to form an ugly mass of liquid dripping and clinging on her face. Her clothes were torn and she was completely dishevelled. She didn't dare look down the unending depth below her. Rather, she raised her gaze to the woman towering above her, a deadly smirk playing at her lips. The wind -which seemed eerie to Harriet- caressed her long raven black hair. Her gait was firm and intimidating but Harriet wouldn't deny the fact that she was still beautiful in an extraordinary way. Although that wasn't her concern at the moment. She dreaded everything and every little moment more, she had to spend with the woman.

'You remember the time when we both sweared to be bestfriends forever till death?' She leaned closer and pushed few strands of hair from Harriet's face. Harriet nodded quickly, trying to hold unto the faintest bit of hope she could get.

'Yes. Yes, I remember and I'm so...'

'Well then, it's time we make that a reality on your part.' She interrupted, smirking evilly.

It took few seconds for Harriet to recognize the meaning behind her words and the moment she did, an intense horror overwhelmed her.

'Wait, what?! You are not going to k...'

Her words got lost in the air the moment the woman's cold hands came in contact with her body and pushed her _with her deadly smirk still on, down the unending depths of the cliff.

   'NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!'

Harriet's ear piercing screams could be heard, re-echoing through space and from all four directions of the universe.
