I laid on my husband's chest as he ran his finger over my lower back, assuring me that things were going to be okay. I hoped that they ended up being so, because if not; we were not the only ones who were going to get affected.

“Do you really think that things would end up going well?” I asked, raising myself to look at Vladimir who smiled, pulling me to him, kissing my lips. Having stayed up with me throughout most of the night, I was surprised to see that he woke up before me. However, I was also thankful for the fact that he didn’t get out of bed and kept holding me in his arms.

“Yes, malyshka. Everything will be fine” Vladimir said gently. My chest ached as I remembered what I did last night. The idea of me so cold heartedly killing my brother broke me, and knowing that I did it because it was the right thing to do didn't make things any better. If anything, it made things worse for me.
