Chap 5: Adela Princess

"Adela, you have to stay here, you have to take what should be yours. I have to take revenge on those people on behalf of my mother.”

Adela raised her head to look deeply into Eudora's eyes, her eyes were clear and full of doubt, she didn't understand, and she didn't want to understand why her mother had to confront those people?

"Mom?"

Eudora gently stroked Scarlet's hair, which had been dyed wet by the rain, her voice was very soft, just enough for the two of them to hear.

"My darling, you won't understand. What you have to do is just listen to me, stay here, be a noble princess that makes people respect. Then time will answer everything for you.”

Eudora only left such a sentence and then left, her back was unrepentant, her feet walking in high heels. Adela could only stare blankly at Eudora's increasingly distant figure.

“My  Princess, from now  this Athena palace will be your home.”

The manager's voice rang in Adela's ears. She lowered her head, her eyes filled with tears, a stream of tears rolled down her face, finally falling to the cold ground, merging with the cold rain.

The moment the other door closed, it was also the time when Adela ended her free wandering life, the vortex of fame and fortune kept tormenting and tearing Adela's small soul so that she was forever trapped in it. This fake elite, is trapped in a grudge that her mother left behind.

It must be said that of all the descendants of the Royal, Adela is the child with the most potential, she can master everything, and her learning ability even exceeds that of Princess Harley, who is destined to become the heir to the Queen's throne.

The King attaches great importance to Adela's ability, but the tear in his conscience still torments him. He knows Adela's ability very well, the more he knows how hard she has to work to be able to achieve these achievements. However, Adela is the daughter of that woman, who he hated to the bottom of his heart.

“My Majesty, do you want Princess Adela to marry a son of the Moore family?” – Rowan, close secretary of the King, asked.

Alex Williams was slightly taken aback, he looked for a long time into the nothingness, his hand was still stroking the sparkling glass ball, and each white ray of electric light was reflected by the glass ball throughout the room.

Not knowing how much time had passed, each ticking of the pendulum clock sounded in his ears, Rowan was still patiently waiting for an answer from the King.

“Um, Adela is also of the age to get married.” Alex's voice was a little heavy.

Although Alex showed no emotion on his face, Rowan still knew that his heart was torn apart. More than anyone, Rowan knew the love that Alex has for Adela, it can be said that she is the person the King both loves and hates. Love because she is the daughter of the woman, who Alex loves the most, hate because her mother heartlessly renounced the position of Queen, giving up the lavish and flashy life that the King bestowed. Just for running away with a poor, tattered man.

“But My Majesty, if the princess gets married, she will no longer have a chance to run for the position of Queen.”

Alex leaned back, eyes closed, brows furrowed, he tried to hold back the raging wave waiting to explode in his heart.

“Adela is not qualified to be queen.”

That statement was too cruel, so the emperor was originally like that. Cold, ruthless, in his eyes only the benefit of the Royal Family.

Alex would never have expected that the conversation just now was overheard by Adela. She was a little disappointed, but soon the mood returned to a stable state, because from the beginning she had already known, living in the upper class full of intrigues and calculations, this background is what determines the success and failure of each people.

Adela turned around, there was a glint of cruelty in her jet-black eyes, perhaps at this very moment, the little bit of kindness left in her had completely disappeared. All that is left is extravagance, arrogance, and cruelty. She has gradually become the person she hates the most in the world.

Scarlet opened her eyes, warm sunlight came from outside the window, the horizon appeared a bright red, the reflection in Scarlet's transparent pupils was all Adam’s luxury.

Scarlet turned over, her face facing the dusty ceiling, the Renaissance paintings painted on the ceiling had also begun to show signs of fading, the power of time had ruined the whole beauty of this place.

“Knock… Knock…”

A loud knock on the door came, hitting Scarlet's sensitive ears. She was a little irritable, directly covering her head with a pillow. In this world, the people she hates most are who disrupt her sleep.

Scarlet tried to ignore the existence of the "guest", but that person was not polite and directly kicked the wooden door with his foot.

With a loud sound, the wooden door was kicked out of the door frame by a strong force, and the whole room was filled with wood dust.

Scarlet was angry and shouted.

“Damn it, Bernie, what exactly do you want? Will you let me get a good night's sleep?"

Bernie smirked scornfully.

"Sleep? Do you know what time it is now?"

Scarlet glanced at the clock on the wall, the hour hand pointing to four. She looked out at the sky again.

The bright sunlight covers all life, the green treetops are still constantly rising, catching the gentle light source.

"Damn it, the clock's gone," Scarlet said.

Bernie was not fast nor slow and approached Scarlet, he used his big hands to grab Scarlet's collar, directly pulling her out of bed.

Because of the height difference, Scarlet was lifted off the floor by Bernie, her legs dangling in midair.

“Hey you, damn bastard, let me down, let… Me… Down…”
