***Bethany’s POV***

When he raised his voice, I was startled but over time, I got used to it. He was no longer the gentleman I used to know in Claybourne. Was he really a gentleman or was it just a figment of my imagination? From the start, he was not an ideal man but I allowed myself to fall for him. In the first place, I knew he was a rogue and he could hurt anyone without feeling guilt or remorse. Overall, Jacob has totally changed, or maybe he hasn’t changed at all! Maybe, what I saw was his normal self, and I just painted him into someone else!

“I asked where you are going,” he repeated while clenching his teeth.

“I've also lost my appetite. Excuse me,” I said, in a swift motion, he was already in front of me, and his hands were just a few inches away from my face. My eyes widened in fear while waiting for him to strike me. Tears probably welled up in the corner because of fear but I didn’t flinch. Not even a bit!
