Chapter 8

Things became awkward for the next few days of my stay in this pack house. After Reui swore to the Forest of Life, I finally realized he was saying the truth and all that I said to him were nothing but only an accusation. I was embarrassed. It feels like someone just punched me in the gut at the realization. Because of that, it only gave me more reasons not to go out of the room. Some maids would just bring my meals because I wasn't going down. The twins also visited me and I've became close to them somehow. They are sweet and a little bit psycho like their big brother but I found myself liking their company. It keeps me from losing my sanity.

I don't know when are we going to depart towards the Ythuel University. I can't wait to leave because the awkward in this house was becoming more and more thicker. I can't freaking face Reui without blushing furiously out of embarrassment. Although he reassured me that it was all okay and he wasn't going to tease me with it, but still! I couldn't help it.

“I'll be gone for 3 days,” he said one day when he visited me in my room.

My brows furrowed but I nodded my head. “Okay...” I wanted to ask where but couldn't bring myself to do so. I should not question him.

“I'm going to our neighboring pack to negotiate,” he added.

I nodded my head again. “Okay...”

“And I'm not sure if three days is enough. I might be gone for the entire week.”

“Okay...”

“I'll miss you,” he said and pursed his lips.

“Okay—”

“Katia.”

“Yeah?”

“Stop saying okay,” he sulked.

I stifled the smile that was wanting to appear on my face. I nodded my head. “Okay—”

“Katia!”

I threw my head back as I laughed hard. “Fine! Be safe then.”

I grinned.

He rolled his eyes.

“Reui,” I called.

“What?” A pout was still plastered on his face.

“Do you want to kiss me?” I boldly asked. His face flushed. “I know why you went here aside from informing me.”

He scratched the back of his head shyly. “How did you know?”

I didn't answered him. Only dumb people wouldn't see the obvious fact.

“Well, uh, is that okay with you?” he asked.

I stared at him for a moment which made him blushed more. He licked his bottom lip and raked his hair through his fingers. He glanced at me nervously.

I wonder what he sees in me. I am not an interesting person, let alone likable.

Is that because of the mate bond?

If so, this is kinda unfair.

Our feelings to each other were made by the Moon Goddess. If there's no bound, I bet he would still look at me the same way he's looking at me right now.

I sighed.

“Just a peck, alright?” I said.

His eyes lit up and he nodded his head eagerly. “Yeah, sure.”

I gulped and sat straight on the bed. He smiled and leaned down, cupping my face and staring into my lilac eyes before it trailed down to my lips. His eyes darkened. He leaned his face and pressed our lips together.

I closed my eyes and smile against his lips. But my smile soon faded when the supposedly peck turns out to be sensual as he deepened our kiss. He moved his lips against mine, tugging my bottom lip and swiping his tongue across my teeth as if wanting me to open up. I moaned and unconsciously parted my lips for his tongue to invade my mouth.

His hands on my cheek traveled behind my neck as he pulled me impossibly closer to him. I moaned as his lips assaulted mine.

His lips was soft and sweet that I found myself returning the kiss and encircling my arms around his neck.

He seemed surprised for a brief second and I groaned when he suddenly stilled. But he quickly pulled himself over and kissed me aggressively once again. His hands was now on my waist, moving his palm up and down, making me squirm against his heated touch. His hand soon made its way inside my shirt and found my breast underneath the bra I was wearing. He palmed my mounds and pinched my nipple.

I felt something... weird.

His lips soon went down on my jaw, and down to my neck. He nipped and sucked my skin, making me moaned in pure pleasure.

“A-Alpha...” I whispered as he pushed me gently on the bed, my back hitting the soft mattress. He, then, went on top of me, relentlessly kissing and caressing my body. “Ah... p-pease stop,” I muttered, trying to pull myself over from this overwhelming sensation. My rational thoughts flew across the window and all I want was for him to continue further.

But this is wrong. Everything is wrong. This is not the right time to do it.

I don't want to get pregnant. I'm still so young!

With the last ounce of my sanity, I pushed him away softly.

We panted.

“N-No... I'm not yet ready,” I whispered against his lips. He groaned in pain and buried his face on the crook of my neck. He took in my scent as he tried to calm himself down. “Reui,” I called softly and brushed his hair through my fingers.

“Sorry, baby. I almost lost my control,” he uttered and forcefully peeled himself from me. He stood up straight and fixed his creased suit. He helped me stand up and we stared into each other awkwardly. I blinked my eyes and fixed my shirt, faking a cough as I do so.

“So... uhm, be careful then?” I said and smiled at him.

He forced a smile, too. “Thanks... uhm, you too. Be careful.” He leaned down and kissed my cheek. “Try to interact with other people in this house. They're nice, they won't bite. Ingrid will accompany you if you decided to go out of the room. You can also ask mom to tour you around, I'm sure she wouldn't mind.”

I nodded my head. “Thank you.”

He cleared his throat. “Also... try not to smile to other men here, okay? I'll only be gone for few days. I will be back as soon as possible.”

My brows knitted. Tsk. What a possessive piece of handsome-shit.

“Seriously, Reui?” I asked sarcastically.

He nodded his head. “Yes. And if possible, don't look at them, okay? I would also talk to them not to look at you.”

The veins on my head almost popped out.

Alpha Reui suddenly smiled brightly as he nodded to himself, as if a good idea crossed his thoughts.

“What are you even thinking?”

“I'm thinking of... bringing you with me. In that way, I wouldn't be away from you and I could murder men who's about to look at you,” he said nonchalantly like a man who just lost his sanity.

Annoyed, I narrowed my eyes at him and through gritted teeth, I said, “No.”
