Chapter 15

I watched, amazed, as a huge wolf rubbed his face against me as if wanting to be caressed. I held the huge, black wolf's face and kissed his forehead. I caressed his head.

“Your wolf is quite impressive, Reui,” I said softly. He purred softly and rubbed his face against me. I giggled and couldn't help but to kiss him again and again.

“He said, thank you,” Catherine spoke, ruining the good moment, of course, she would. After all, she's a bitch.

“Ah...” I lamely said and nodded my head. I forgot that they could communicate through mindlink. Ingrid told me that once Reui and I mated, we were able to communicate as well through link, and so to the other members of this pack.

“He said do you find him beautiful?” she said again.

I am growing irritated to her presence but I held it out. I don't want to lash out over this things. I'm not that childish.

“Of course, I find you beautiful, Reui. You're MY mate,” I said, emphasizing ‘my’ to provoke Catherine, which was successful because I saw her face turned sour from the corner of my eyes. I smirked. “Hmm, it's saddening that I wasn't the one who first saw this beautiful and impressive wolf of yours, but I'm sure, the feeling is mutual, right? You want me to be the sole witness to see you first shift. Am I right?”

He nodded as if he understood me well. My smirk grew until I was actually grinning. 

“You love me, right, Reui?” I asked and batter my eyelashes cutely. Even though I wasn't used doing this kind of face, I still did, just to annoy this bitch tagging along with us. What a thick faced wench.

Again, Reui nodded his head. 

He suddenly retreated and let out a howl.

My brows furrowed. 

“What did he say?” I asked Catherine.

She glared at me and pursed her lips. Her whole face was painted in anger, as if she wanted nothing but to kill me right away.

“Tell me,” I commanded, using an authoritative tone. Even though I am not yet an official Luna, people around here respects me and treats me like their female alpha. 

I saw her eyes glinted in fear for a brief seconds before she returned to her angry face.

“He said he wants you to sit on his back,” she said through gritted teeth.

I smiled mockingly. Who's inferior between us now?

I am not a kind of person who thinks highly of myself and I am not one who thinks and acts superior everytime, but whenever I'm with this whore, I could not help but to show her how much power I held over her. Thus, she should know her place.

I stood up from sitting on a lodge. I went towards Reui and caressed his silky and thick fur. I bet even bullets cannot penetrate his fur and skin. 

“Really? Do you want me to sit on your back? Am I not heavy?’

He shook his head and nudge his nose to my stomach. I giggled. 

He lowered himself on the ground for me to be able to climb. After climbing and adjusting myself on his back, he stood in all four. I gasped and held on to him. Didn't I mentioned he's a huge and tall wolf? Damn.

I felt on to his thick fur, and before I knew it, he started running. I yelped and held on to him tightly. I leaned down and pressed my chest against his face. The wind was harshly slapping against my face. I closed my eyes as tightly as I could. I cursed him a lot of times and told him to stop, but he never listened.

After some time of adjusting, I slowly open my lids. He was still running fast in the woods, dodging the huge roots of the trees, avoiding some traps, and easily jumping from high places.

My lips parted. 

Wow...

Just wow...

I'd never thought of being able to do this. I've never been too expose in the wild life. I have never experienced running in the woods. It feels like... freedom.

It brought me tears.

Unclasping my other hand, I let it feel the harsh yet fresh wind as Reui ran. A smile made its way to my lips.

Reui has slower his pace until he halted. 

“What's wrong, Reui?” I asked. I jumped down from his back and watched as he went towards the back of a tree. After a moment, he went back in his human form wearing a trunks.

He raked his hair through his long fingers. I watched, awe, as his half-naked body got exposed in my sinful eyes.

I felt myself almost drooling at the sight. His muscles was put on their right places. His chest was chiseled, his shoulders are wide and ripped, his biceps are protruding. I looked down on his abdomen and saw his 8 pack abs...

I bit my lower lip as a blush crept to my face.

“Enjoying the view?” he teased.

I scoffed to hide my embarrassed face. “No. I was only observing.”

“Yeah, and why are you blushing, then?”

“B-Because it's hot...?” I uttered and fanned myself through my hand.

He smirked. “Yes, thank you.”

I quickly snapped my head at him. “N-No! I didn't meant it's you! I mean t-the weather!” I hissed, blushing furiously.

He threw his head back as a laugh erupted through him.

My lips protruded.

He walked towards me, grinning from ear to ear. He cupped my face through his warm hands. Sparks ran all through my body. The grin on his face gradually fell and he smiled at me genuinely. “Katia...”

“Yes?” I replied, my eyes softening while looking up at him. He caressed my cheeks through his thumbs.

“I'm so glad to finally meet you. I've been waiting for you.”

I leaned my face on his right palm. “You seems to be loyal to me without actually even meeting me.”

His smile turned into a sad one. “I wanna be loyal to you for as long as I could. Until my very last breath. I don't want to hurt you...”

My brows furrowed. The sudden sadness I saw in his eyes made me alerted and quite confused. “Reui?”

“I don't want you to cry because of me...”

“R-Reui, what's wrong?”

He sighed and blinked. When he opened his eyes again, the sadness was gone. He smiled and leaned down, planting a kiss on my forehead.

“Turn around, baby.”

“Huh? Why?” I asked. He let go of my cheeks and retreated. 

“Go.”

I shot him a questioning look but he only returned it with an encouraging smile. I sighed. “Fine.”

I rolled my eyes at him before I followed what he instructed. Turning around, I was about to ask him why he wanted me to turn around, but my voice came out quiet when I saw what he wanted me to see.

A beautiful falls welcomed my sight.

“Welcome to the River of Eternal life, baby,” he said behind my ear as his hand snaked around my waist.
