Felt comforted

"Throw her out" a voice rang out loudly. As soon as Alice heard this, her feet grew weak and she almost fell to the floor. She instinctively held unto Justin's arm but who knew that as soon as she did this she was immediately flung away which made her end up looking miserable on the floor. Alice fought the tears she was about to shed and bit her lip. Justin threw the guards who were walking slowly a cold look. Sigh, the burly looking but timid guys immediately hastened their footsteps. They wasted no time in holding each of Alice's arms while taking her out of the company. Alice had no time to protest as she was treated like a bag of rice and dragged out of the company. She bowed her head in shame and embarrassment as they dragged her out. Her cheeks were stained with tears that had magically found its way out.

Alice was left lying on the floor by the guards who threw her looks of pity. Why would they look at her that way and then still leave her on the floor lying miserably? She didn't need their pity.

Passersby threw her weird looks while some laughed at her state.

Alice buckled up and rose to her feet. This wasn't the first time she had been treated  like trash and she was slowly getting used to it which wasn't something anyone should be proud of.

Alice dusted off the dirt on her body but that didn't mean her old looking white shirt was still the same as it once was. It looked more like a rag with the patches of dirt that could be seen on it.

She turned to look at the talk building behind her and she shook her head. If she had known she'd encounter such fate today, she'd rather not come but she was glad she was able to find out who her mate was. Thinking of her mate, he looked so familiar but she couldn't pin point where she'd seen him.  Alice sighed before turning back to the road. She had just taken a step when she bumped into a man. She immediately picked up her bag while apologizing continuously even when she knew it was the man who wasn't paying attention to where he was headed. Well, that was how she had been brought up. To always apologize even when you know you aren't in the wrong. Alice who had her head bowed didn't see the small smile hanging on the man's lips while he stared at her figure.

"It's fine. You don't need to apologize. I'm the one at fault" the man apologized making Alice surprised. She had thought he'd be one of those men who'd keep ranting even after she apologized. She still kept her head down as she listened to the man's surprisingly soothing voice. Why was she comforted by his voice alone?

A minute passed and Alice realised the man made no move to walk away. Then, she raised her head and stared at the man openly. Now, she was able to take in his features. Black shining hair that was slicked to the back, thick and full eyebrows,  a sharp and pointed nose, full lips which were surprisingly a color of deep pink and not red, he also had a sharp jaw. Taking in his features, Alice realised he looked familiar. It was as if she had seen him somewhere but she couldn't pin point where exactly she'd seen him. Alice scrutinized him properly one again, although, he appeared to be young if she were to judge by his facial features but judging from the aura he had and the way he spoke, she knew he was definitely not a young man.

"What's making a beautiful lady like you cry?" The man blurted out and as soon as he did Alice's eyes widened in surprise.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude but it's very weird to see a beautiful like you looking as if she just broke up with her boyfriend" the man continued making Alice smile awkwardly. 'If it was breaking up with my boyfriend, it would have been better cause I don't have one' Alice mumbled under her breath while trying her best to keep her composure. She scrutinized the man for some time and she gave up on every bad thought she had. There was nothing to lose if she shared what happened with this man so she made up her mind.

" I just didn't expect something terrible to happen today. I went for an interview but before I was even interviewed I had been thrown out of the company" Alice said in one breath. While she ranted on and on about her ordeal, she didn't realize the man was smiling fondly at her.

Once she was done, she stared at the man wanting to see his reaction and what she saw made her happy a little. She was glad all her explanations didn't go to waste. Unknown to her, the man whom she thought was listening to her only paid attention to the first sentence she said. Alice had just opened her mouth wanting to talk again when a black expensive Maybach stopped by the side of the road, precisely beside her. She wondered who was the driver cause anyone in their right senses should know that he is meant to driver properly.

Words got stuck in her throat when the person who she assumed to be the driver came down from the jeep and walked towards them before bowing deeply to the man she was talking to. What was more shocking was when she heard the driver say "boss, I'm back" to the man staring at her.

This time, Alice's brain functioned properly then she took notice of the clothes the man wore. Though they were simple but judging from the logos on them she knew the clothes were very expensive. She couldn't believe that there were still rich people who'd stoop low to listen to commoners like her rant.

"Young lady, what were you saying about not being interviewed?" The man asked while smiling and Alice found it hard to form a word. The man looked more handsome when he smiled than when he had a normal expression.

And no! She wasn't into middle aged men! Hmph!
