Brutal Honesty

“You’ll be fine soon, you just need rest.” The physician said covering up the gash on Damon's side that was already healing with a bandage after cleaning it.

The man bowed to us before exiting the room. I saw Damon give me a worried look but other than that, silence remained between us. I stared at my hands that were folded on my legs as if they were the most interesting thing in the world.

The man's words from last night kept ringing in my head and I couldn't fathom what to make of it. How could anyone have seen that?

For a moment, I felt a pang of something akin to regret. Before now, I hadn't killed anyone. I couldn't even muster the mind to but now I could and had without second thoughts, it almost unnerved me but I knew I wasn't to be blamed.

My eyes went to the man who was solely responsible for it all, the man who lay next to me was the cause of everything. He had turned me into this monster I was becoming, into this unrecognizable person and I could feel my rage swallowing me
