Amaro was an extremely tall and equally lanky man, his wide eyes were nervous and darted about the office as soon as he’d stepped in. Damon didn't feel like interrogating him anymore, his thoughts were solely on the woman upstairs.

The physician had visited yesterday and had declared much to Helena’s disappointment that Alena was not with child. He had said she was exhausted and needed rest and good food, and in a few days she would be fine, but a new day was here and she wasn't doing fine.

Damon watched David run a shaky hands on his face, he was obviously worried about her too and other than Alex, Damon didn't think either of them had any interest in the gambling house owner case for now.

“Alpha,” Amaro greeted bowing. “I was told you came looking for me, and I am deeply honored. I apologize for my absence, I had been with my ill mother most of the day.”

“It’s okay,” Damon said in a strained voice. “Sit,”
