Petty Theft

Wide eyes looked up at me as I came down for breakfast, Damon shot up from his seat and hurriedly made his way to the foot of the stairs, reaching out a hand to help me.

“I’m fine,” I said, ignoring his hand.

I’d never known pain as emotional as I had felt would be so severe enough to cause me to become physically ill but I had experienced it first-hand and I never wanted to, it was giving my mother too much power over me.

Now, I didn't care about anything or anyone. It was stifling here, and I didn't want to have to live with so many people anymore. There was nothing here for me and that is why in my sick bed, I’d made the decision to leave here, to leave everything and everyone behind and no one was spared.

Damon said nothing and simply followed me to the table where we both settled down.

“Serve her breakfast,” He said to Helena who nodded gleefully and immediately hurried off to the kitchen.

His eyes searched mine. “Are you sure you are fine?” He asked.
