Bar attack

Purity walked into the filled bar and squeezed herself through the people looking for Andrew.

This was not the first time she came here but she still got scared and anxious each time she was here to buy drinks for her stepsister Sandy, something she always does every Sunday evening.

She spotted Andrew at the other side of the bar serving the customers and she opted to wait for him on the table close to her.

There were glasses on the table a clear indication that people were using it but with the thought of being there for only five minutes gave her the courage to sit and wait.

Andrew was her friend and always gives her, her orders immediately she arrives a way of protecting her from the wolf's eyes who are always ready to attack.

To her Andrew is more of an elder brother she never had and always helped her whenever he could. She met him in the bar the first time she came to get the drinks and was attacked by one of the customers.

Purity had never been that scared in her life the ways she was that day and the thought of what would have happened if Andrew didn't show up, always freaks her out till date.

As Andrew was still serving he saw Purity and decided to hurry up and attend to her to allow her go home as it is never safe for a pretty innocent girl like her.

As Purity sat there calmly waiting for Andrew she spotted a number of black dressed men entering the bar through the back door and disappearing among the people. With the dim light she couldn't see clearly where they had gone.

"Or maybe they are ghosts," she thought to herself as fear rose in her.

She had this feeling that something bad was about to happen and wanted to get her order and leave immediately.

"Or should I go and come back later?" a part of her was convincing her that way but facing Sandy was more like facing an angry lioness and she wasn't in the mood, keeping in mind she had an urgent interview in one of the biggest companies in the country tomorrow, she wanted to prepare.

She looked around and the doors were far from her, she looked at Andrew and he was closer to the door.

She could kill two birds at the same time, get to where Andrew was and convince him to hand over the bottles he had then use that door and leave before things turned messy. Her instincts are never wrong.

"Dear God save your daughter," she made a silent prayer as she started walking towards Andrew. Though he was moving from table to table, he was in the same area.

She was just about to reach where Andrew was when she heard a commotion at the front followed by a gunshot and everybody was taking to their heels.

She was pushed to the floor hurting her knee, she tried standing up but kept on falling as everyone wanted to get to the door faster.

She was on the floor in pain and even when she tried calling for help, it was like nobody cared.

With the little energy left in her she used the table for support and limped outside among the others.

She finally got outside, she couldn't go on, her legs were so weak, her eyes heavy and just as her body was falling on the ground, she was expecting to fall on the ground and maybe die but she felt herself land on someone's arms and everything went blank.

Denzel parked his car few blocks away then with his men they walked towards the bar.

He hates to be disrespected and the owner of the bar just did it making him leave his house to come here.

He stood outside waiting for his men to clear the way and when he heard a gunshot, he decided to go in. The number of people running out had reduced and as he was about to get to the door, he saw this figure falling.

Acting on instincts, he spread his arms, catching her just in time before she got to the ground. He carried her to his car, laid her in the back seat, her body was cold, her face pale, her lips dry, her clothes thorn with  blood and a big injury on her knee, elbow and face.

He covered her with his jacket, went to the driver seat and started the car heading back home.

His phone rang and he picked it not checking the caller.

"What should we do with him?" Dan, his trusted man and personal assistant asked.

Denzel and Daniel only go out to deal with stubborn people.

"Has he handed the stuff to you?" He asked back.

       "Yes sir,"

"Take him to the warehouse and call Vanessa, tell her to come to my house right now. I should meet her there," he instructed.

Vanessa was his doctor and has been working for him for five years, she always treated him and his men whenever they get hurt.

"Sir are you hurt?" Dan asked concerned.

       "No I'm not hurt,"

"Are you sick? None of the men we came with is hurt,"

"Dan, since when did you start questioning my instructions?" He asked getting impatient.

"I'm sorry sir, I'll call her," Daniel responded and he hanged up.

He looked back at sleeping girl and for the first time he felt pity for someone. Her face was pale but she was still beautiful, she looked so innocent to be found in that place at that time.

"What could she be doing in such a place?" He asked himself.

He got home, carried her out and Vanessa was waiting for him in her car.

Back home Sandy was pacing up and down looking at the watch. It was five hours since Purity left, to the same place she takes one hour and she hadn't returned.

Sandy was worried, not because of Purity's safety but because of her dad. She didn't want to get on his bad side today and thinking of the warning he gave her because of her drinking habits, she was losing her mind.

She picked her phone to call her only to remember she told Purity to leave her phone.

She threw her phone on the bed frustrated.

"You better come home right now, if you still love your miserable life," She said to no one in particular.

"Why not go and check before dad comes back?" She thought to herself and just as she was about to leave the room Mrs. Rita walked in.

She was not her real mother but treated her better than Purity, her own daughter. Some people always think that Purity is the step daughter and not her but who is she to talk when the heavens are fighting her battles?

"Where is this useless girl?" Mrs. Rita asked and she inhaled deeply then smiled at her.

"Earlier when I came back I heard her talk on the phone, I think she was talking to that guy that brought her back the other night with alcohol. He works in the bar down the street and he is a bartender," she lied.

That was the perfect lie she could think of and she would use it to her advantage. She knew her mom so we'll to know her capabilities and one of them would be to go to that bar and drag Purity home that way her dad won't know she is still drinking and won't scold her.

She mind-smiled at the perfect idea she came up with.

"She went to the bar? She had to stop so low to date a bartender?" Rita asked, she didn't want to believe what she was hearing.

"Yes mom, I asked her where she was going and she said it's none of my business but she left her phone you can check if I'm lying," Sandy suggested.

Apart from the family, Purity had only one friend who worked in the bar and they always talked. Sandy was sure that they could find something on Purity's phone to give her a backing.

Rita rushed out of the room and Sandy went after her. They both entered Purity's room and the phone was right on the bed.

Rita picked the phone but it had a password, making her more angry.

"She left without even preparing food, she will hear from me," Rita threatened.

"Mom what are you going to do?" Sandy asked innocently.

"To get her from that club, do you want people to think I failed as a mother?"

"No problem, once you come back, I would have prepared a wonderful meal for you and dad,"

Rita nodded and left in a rush. Unlike Purity, she was using a car and she used ten minutes to get to the bar.

She met the police there and she couldn't go in. She stopped one of the ladies passing by.

"Good evening, what happened here?" Rita asked calmly.

"There was an attack, one attendant was shoot on the leg and due to the commotion everyone running for their lives, some people were hurt and they have been taken to the hospital. None of the attackers was caught as the police arrived here late and it is said the bar manager has disappeared," the woman explained and she nodded absentmindedly.

"Is she safe? Was she hurt? How will she explain to her husband where Purity is? What on earth was she even doing in a bar?" She asked herself all this questions and coming back to earth, the woman was all gone before she asked which hospital the injured were taken to.

She looked around to stop another person but everybody seemed busy to notice her.
