Thirty-four: Old Friends

It had been two days since Amelia's abrupt break up with James and it had left him miserable and heart broken. He’d never felt so alone and disconnected from the rest of the world like he did, knowing Amelia was gone, not just from Texas but from his life.

It wasn’t the first time he’d ended a relationship with a woman but it was the first time someone he loved dearly had truly hurt him, after he struggled to heal from what his ex-girlfriend had done to him a few years ago.
