Forty-nine: Laying it Thick

It was another Monday morning, and as usual, Ryan and Amelia had resumed work at DCL. As they walked past the rest of the employees into her office, she couldn't help glancing around and straining her ears just to know if she'd hear her name on their lips.

After she’d taken her mind off the incident of the weekend with Lara, she’d woken up the next morning to see her pictures with Ryan all over the news and on the internet, claiming they were back together. Amelia had almost had a heart attack from the news but all thanks to Ryan’s intervention, they’d quickly taken them down. Although he wasn’t so bothered about it, claiming it would be good for their relationship, in the long run, she wasn’t ready to call such attention to herself. She knew it would cause a major scandal in the company and she’d be seen as a gold-digger who was warming Ryan’s bed just to remain in her position in the company and she knew she’d lose the respect she had amongst other employees.
