Sixty-nine: Lunch Date

After dinner with Ryan’s family, Amelia had thought about quitting at DCL while job hunting but on further thought, she decided to still work at DCL while searching for a job. She’d rather be of use than stay idle at home. And again, she wanted to enjoy the last of her days at DCL with Sylvia and Ryan before she’d be employed at another company.

Although Ryan hadn’t yet accepted that it was better for her to seek employment somewhere else, she knew he’d come around and accept her decision. She could no longer stand being gossiped about in her workspace just because she was in a relationship with Ryan. As she prepared to resume work that morning, she knew the news of what had happened during the weekend would be all over the place and she’d be the topic of discussion once again. Truly, she wasn’t looking forward to it but she wasn’t also going to let it kill her happy spirit. She was still high and on cloud nine from the time she’d spent with Ryan’s family.
