Ninety-three: The Contract

Benjamin Davidson glanced at the Rolex wristwatch on his wrist, a frown marring his face. He’d been at the restaurant for the past ten minutes awaiting Lara’s arrival. After their last meeting failed to hold, she’d contacted him to fix another date but now, she was slacking. As much as he was annoyed by her absence, he was also ready to wait for her because he knew his plans were on the verge of taking off as soon as Lara agreed to the contract marriage he’d proposed.

Initially, when she’d told him she wouldn’t be part of his evil plans, Benjamin had been devastated because he didn’t know how to go about it. But while trying to find another solution to his problems, the news of Amelia being Liu Feng-Zhang’s long-lost daughter broke out and at that point, he knew Lara was going to return to him for help. He didn’t need a prophet to tell that Lara was greatly angered and felt cheated from the realization that the same woman that stole the heart of the only man she wanted had turned out
