Chapter 42: Lia's Illness

Lia's POV

Having a fever wasn't an interesting experience, especially for people who were rarely sick like me. I didn't feel like I had the strength to do anything. My whole body was hot, and my head was in terrible pain. The only thing I could do to make myself comfortable was sleep.

Sometimes I would wake up and be in a vague state.

As always, I woke up and heard voices talking and felt the quiet atmosphere around me. The doctor was saying something; I heard him mention the name of some medicine. But I was so tired and I kept falling asleep.

I woke up again, feeling my current state was better. But my body was still exhausted. I frowned, annoyed by my sweaty body. How many days had I not showered?

"Hey, you all right?" I heard Ivor's voice and then I saw him sitting next to the bed. His face was full of anxiety.

“I-,” I wanted to say 'I'm fine' out of habit but I hear my voice hoarse, I didn't even have the strength to say a complete sentence. My words were stuck in my throat.
