Ruby helped her mother set the dinner table just like old times. Her stomach rumbled and mouth watered at the sight of meatloaf and cornbread. When she was living alone, she would have cereal or some sort of junk food for dinner, she had missed how good her mothers food was.

“Look who’s being the prodigal daughter” mr Sonja teased as he walked into his kitchen

It felt so good seeing the most important women in his life work together again.

Ruby flung her arm around her father and hugged him tightly. When she was little, Mrs Sonja would complain of how much he spoiled her and she got away with anything she wanted.

“I wasn’t expecting you but your presence made my day even ten times better”

“Well, your daughter came home unexpectedly saying that she missed us so much and she wants to move back in” Mrs Sonja teased

“Don’t listen to her, I didn’t say another of that” Ruby pouted

She loved the princess treatment she got from her parents, no one made her feel special as much
