Ruby laid awake, eyes wide open. She could hear his soft breathing but she could tell that just like her, he was preoccupied with his thoughts.

Nothing made sense to her, it was one of those times she wanted to run home and cry in her mothers arms, that was the only place she felt safe and it protected her from how harsh the world could be.

She didn’t exactly have a right to be mad at Nate because they weren’t dating but she knew they shared something for each other. She knew he cared about her but not deeply enough to make her his woman.
