Afternoon rush hour wasn’t Ruby’s favorite. It felt like everyone had left their homes at that moment. There seemed to be endless traffic so Ruby decided to take a walk to the nearest restaurant. Her stomach grumbled as she had nothing to eat throughout the day.

She had almost forgotten how refreshing and draining presentations could be. It was refreshing because she got to share her ideas with people and show the world her capabilities but it was draining because she had to put in so much effort and as a perfectionist, she demanded the best of the best.

Her conversation with Nate had left them in a more awkward situation, she didn’t let it bother her as she reminded herself that she needed Mark and his team members to approve of her.

The job seemed to be her only means of survival when she moved to California, starting up a florist shop didn’t exactly promise to boom with income in the first few weeks.
