CHAPTER TWELVE

“Why didn’t you pick somebody else?!” I shouted at Thomas. “Why me? Screw your damn feelings, I want the truth!” I flipped over a chair. It was the next day and we hadn’t heard anything from them. The only order I had was to stay here in my room until someone came and got me. It was only eight at night, and I swear to God, I was slowly starting to lose my mind!

Thomas picked up the chair and calmly put it back where it was supposed to go. “Tammy, I told you the truth on the plane ride here. I thought you were…”

“Shut the hell up! You’ve lied to me about everything else, why start telling the truth now,” I yelled at him. “I don’t want to have this baby if that’s all they want to use it for! Don’t you think that maybe they could find somebody else,” I asked.

Thomas shook his head, “they don’t want to wait so long anymore. That’s why you are their only hope, Tammy. I just wish…” Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Thomas opened it up, and tried to slam it shut again,
