Alpha Bastion watched as Mira fell to the ground at his bare feet. Her red hair blew in the wind assaulting his sense of smell and he could see the flickering shadows from the fire as it danced across the dark green grass.
His wolf clawed at his chest with a snarl hanging off the tips of his protruding canines.
~Mate!!!~ His wolf, Shadow howled. ~I will tear Enzo apart!!~ He snarled viciously meaning every word.
The Alpha closed his eyes, trying to keep his wolf at bay. ~You will do no such thing. Enzo is our Beta, our most loyal and trusted comrade.~
Shadow replied with a vicious snarl before he stepped back into the shadows.
The breathless silence from the assembled circle didn't go unnoticed. A soft murmur swept through the air beside the crackling sound of the fire popping. Alpha Bastion looked down at Mira, his hands curled into tight balls as he willed himself to stay rooted in his place.
Mira stood up, coming face to face with the Alpha. "You took something from me that doesn't belong to you, and I want it back, now." She demanded, holding out her hand.
Gasps filled the smoky, chilled air. The people in the circle were shocked, surprised even, and they quickly became infatuated with the small red-headed woman who dared speak to their Alpha in such a manner.
Beta Daniel stepped forward, breaking the link in the circle. He was more than happy to punish the rogue in front of an audience. For he loved the attention that sprung from the she-wolves.
Beta Daniel...
He bears a gentle soul who feeds off misery. He is mateless, patiently waiting for her to become of age if she is from their pack or where ever she may be. He will give up his life for his Alpha, guard Pack Stone Moon territory with his last breath, and tend to his frailing mother at all hours of the day.
"You will be silenced rogue if you don't show the Alpha some respect." The Beta growled, joining the circle once again when a low snarling growl reverberated from his Alphas chest.
Mira wiped her hair away from her face. "He is not my Alpha." She stated clearly as she wanted everyone to know.
Alpha Bastion took this as a challenge, "Kneel." He ordered in his Alpha tone, wanting to see if she was truly wolfless as well.
Mira did not budge for she felt no compulsion to do so. Her eyes narrowed and she smiled at him as she cocked her brow.
Placing a hand by her ear, "I'm sorry, I didn't quite hear you. Would you like to give it another shot with some feeling this time?" She had the balls to ask him in a snarky manner.
The Alpha widened his stance, rolled his head in a circular motion and when his eyes met Mira's, they glowed with crimson rings. "ON YOUR KNEES!!!" He bellowed, his voice came out in an almost demonic like tone.
Her knees partially buckled from under her, the beating of her heart drummed in her ears and her breathing became ragged. She parted her lips and swept her tongue across the seam of her mouth as the pull she felt towards Bastion from their first encounter returned.
But this time it was stronger than before and as her brows knitted together, the Alphas musky scent filled her nostrils.
Regardless, his demand still wasn't sharp enough to make her kneel before him. Instead, she looked up at the heavens and sighed deeply.
The reddish-tinged moon lit the pitch-black sky as it shook with thunder. She sensed everyone in the circle around her had already descended to their knees.
Lowering her head, she took one look around the circle and chuckled.
"The pendant you took. I want it back." She demanded sternly.
As the Alpha regarded her, his world came to a stop, the beating of his heart made him see her with a brilliant light surrounding her, and his breathing became rough, thin... Wild.
"Or what?" He challenged her breaking free out of his trance.
Not only was he still coming to terms that his orders did not affect her, but his fascination for her grew sickeningly intense.
As she regarded the still-smouldering embers, she clenched her molars together and tightened her jaw. Her body still felt weak, but she needed that pendant back and if she had to threaten the Alpha's life to do so, she would without batting an eye.
With her gaze focused on the Alpha's, she began to draw from her source of energy. She proceeded to manipulate gravity by extending her right arm behind her and she turned the palm of her hand upwards. As she was dragged into the circle, she recalled seeing a hunter's knife resting atop a wooden log.
She waved her arm in a circular motion, utilising the flames of the fire to retrieve the knife. She then propelled her hand forward, holding it in front of Alpha Bastion's face, and the knife that was being carried by the flames of the fire was pointed directly at him as it hovered over her shoulder.
The Travis brothers used the distraction they were blessed with and took off running. No one dared to pay attention to them as they knew they would suffer more, now that they are rogues.
"Witch..."
"She's a rogue and a witch..."
"Rip out her heart..."
Alpha Bastion swallowed thickly, his eyes grew large as he was lost in Mira's glowing eyes and when she focused her attention on the mimicking crowd, the knife embedded in the flames soured through the air towards them, instantly hushing them.
"I am not a witch!" Mira cried out. "I am not your average wolf either!" Tears pricked her eyes as she could sense the unwelcoming sensations of rejection all over again.
"You speak of a pendant?" A soft, fragile voice speaks up.
"I do, a ruby pendant that was given to me by my mother."
An elderly lady with silver hair decorated with a gold butterfly plated clip and an emerald ring on her right hand got to her feet and took a step forward."You are the exceptional offspring of Levi and Clove?" Her voice shook with surprise as her eyes watered.
She knew this to be true because she was the one that helped Clove deliver Mira into the world and watched as she gave Levi the pendant before she was escorted onto the ship that took her back to her home planet.
She turned around and faced the circle of people. "She is no witch. The female that you see standing before you is a hybrid." The elderly lady paused, waiting for the piece of information she had given them to sink in."Her father Levi was a pure breed Lycan and her mother was a Light Oracle from the planet of Morzovia." She continued and struggled as she got down to one knee and bowed her head. "She is a descendant of a king who gave up everything for the love of his child and a powerful Light Oracle that can implode the Earth with a snap of her fingers.
"Lies!" Beta Daniel hissed. "She is a rogue, a wolfless rogue that should be punished for her crimes committed against our Alpha!"
"Yes. For her protection, her father abandoned their pack and sought the protection of another." The elderly lady argued back with bravado.
Mira turned to face the elderly woman and walked up to her, holding her out. The elderly lady lifted her head and placed her hand on Miras, allowing her to help her to her feet. "You knew my parents?" She asked, seeking answers about her parents.
"I did, and the pendant she left behind wasn't only for your protection."
"It wasn't?"
Mira flicked her fingers behind her, causing the flame that was still hovering over her back to return to the pit of spewing wood from where it had originated, before dropping the knife at her feet.
The elderly lady shook her head, "No child. It is also a way for her to communicate with you when the pendant is in your possession, and because you have not communicated with her for over two days. It won't surprise me if she has sent down a Nightengale warrior to come and retrieve you."
The Alpha blew air out of his nostrils as a sense of possessiveness and jealousy consumed him when he thought about another male claiming his extraordinarily phenomenal mate.

"The Travis brothers will be banished from the pack now that they have fled. Is anyone courageous enough to contest my decision?" Alpha Bastion announced plainly as he peered out into the circle and noticed Mr Travis turning away, with his head lowered, retreating from the circle. There was no remorse felt for the elderly man. As his boys grew up, he was repeatedly cautioned that he needed to maintain a tight leash on them before they did the unimaginable and injured a human on purpose for sport. When the figure of Mr Travis's body faded into the darkness of the night, the Alpha glanced briefly in the direction of where Mira remained to stand with her back to him. She was still engaged in a lengthy discussion with the old woman who revealed who Mira genuinely was. He was still unsure what that meant or what she was capable of. Regardless of whether he chose to accept her as his mate or reject her, he was aware that she was powerful and could be a great addition to their pack. ~Re
"Well, my love, shall we?" The elderly lady asked Mira once again if they should be on their way. "Yes, It's getting late." The Alpha absentmindedly rubbed the side of his arm as a light breeze blew past him, and it carried Miras' scent along with it. As he stood at her side, his body felt like it was on fire, his flesh searing till it scorched with yearning. He watched through panicked stricken eyes as she and the elderly lady took a few steps away from him, in the direction of her residence. ~She's leaving. Don't let her leave without speaking to you. I knew you were going to fuck this up. Didn't I warn you that you would fuck this up and-~ The Alpha rolled his eyes heavenward and opened his mouth. "I'd like to have a word with you, rogue." He blurted out and turned to face them. Mira came to an abrupt halt, her shoulders sagged as she sighed, and shook her head, "My name is Mira and in the near future if you want to have a conversation with me, I suggest you learn my name
The cool air that encompassed the Alpha and his feisty rogue, grew thin with sexual tension wafting between them. With the Alpha close to her, touching her, and only a whisper away from her lips. Mira felt a hunger that was completely foreign to her. The Alpha's breath was hot against her bare skin, but it also felt soothing, like he was a remedy for the inferno that he had ignited within her. Solely from the sound of his dominant voice. It was consuming, intoxicating and as the Alpha pulled back, gazing into her eyes, he stole her breath away. His eyes glowed with crimson rings, and before her mind could catch up with her body, she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his. She felt a ripple of sparks searing through her thrumming veins, and she snaked her arms around the Alpha's neck, drawing him in closer... Deeper... ALPHA BASTION could hear Mira's heart pounding against her rib cage, it was creating a beautiful beat, matching the rhythm of his, syncing together a
"Run Clohe! You still have six laps before you need to join the others at the obstacle course!" The Alphas voice boomed through the mid-morning air. He knew he was taking his frustration out on Clohe, punishing her for last night. No matter how many times he told himself; convinced himself it was for her benefit. It wasn't. His lack of discipline was equally attributable to those who behaved behind his back without his awareness. He didn't like his pack members sacrificing themselves for a cause none of them didn't fully understand just yet. He also intended to sit down and have a word with Mave and question her. He wanted to know what was going through her mind when she told her daughter to allow Mira to draw from her energy. It was reckless and they put everyone in danger. His eyes left Clohe and they drifted towards the woods. He still had no idea why they were attacked or who attacked them. It was making him feel on edge, a little paranoid and certainly angry within hims
Mira stood in front of the mirror, looking back at herself. Her breath caught in her throat as she didn't recognise the young, attractive woman staring back at her with shiny hair flowing in waves down her back. The small black dress that Clohe had lent her enhanced her curves, which she had no idea were beneath her usual sweater and jeans. Clohe strolled in with a set of ruby earrings that complemented her ruby pendant as she turned to her side. "I think these will look great on you," She cooed as she stood behind Mira and held the earrings against Miras' earlobes. Mira nibbled on her lower lip. "You don't think they will be a bit of an overkill? I mean... I'm not going to the ball to find my mate, and I don't know how I'm going to run in these heels if trouble should find us." She giggled as she peered down at the pumps that encased her feet. "Gods, no!" Clohe beamed. "You look stunning, plus I doubt Alpha Bastion will let any of the males attending tonight get within two feet o
Both Mira and the Alpha felt in tune with their bodies as they walked into the club where the dance was being held. They had many eyes watching their every move as the Alpha led Mira around the dance floor. He held her close, nudging her hair as he got drunk off her scent. Mira felt dizzy with lust, her body felt like it was on fire as she tingled all over. She raised her hands, and she slid them over his torso until they landed on his chest. She then gently pushed him back as she needed to create some distance between them. She wanted to avoid giving him or their audience the wrong impression. She had come to the dance to ensure the safety of everyone, not to blend in. "I thought you asked me here to help keep your pack members safe, not... dance?" She asked him with an underlay of amusement lacing her soft words. "I did. There is no harm in us blending in, Mira; being one with the pack." "Hmmm, I think you have been sorely misled, because I don't think you'll ever be able
Mira stilled her beating heart. The Alpha Kings' eyes, too, shone brilliantly when he looked at her. "Please, rise to your feet. There is no need for an Alpha King to bow in my presence." She cooed as she snapped her hand back as she felt like his feverish skin had scorched her fingertips. As the Alpha King rose to his full height, Alpha Bastion stepped forward. "Thank you for coming to my aid." Mira felt compelled to thank him in front of their audience."If you didn't show up when you did, I'm not sure what I would have done to Beta Daniel." She made sure to say the Betas name loud and clear for all to hear. "No need to thank me." ALPHA BASTION snarled as he looked past the Alpha King and stared at his Beta who was slumped over. His Beta couldn't have looked more pitiful and shameful in front of his young pack members who were taking photos of him on their smartphones, even if he tried. He looked to his right, "Get him out of my sight!" He ordered through gritted teeth. Two
The Alpha King watched in slow motion as Alpha Bastion made his move and kissed Mira; his intended. He closed his eyes as he tried to concentrate on the sound of Mira's heart that thumped against her chest in an uneven rhythm. The scent of her arousal assaulted his nostrils and he could feel the rage slowly consuming him. "Uh, such a brute!" Clohe whispered as she stood next to the Alpha King with her arms folded across her chest. THE ALPHA KING opened his eyes gradually. He cocked his head back and regarded the moon while quietly cursing the Moon Goddess for placing the Alpha in his path. He knew that his mission to retrieve his intended wasn't going to be easy, but also didn't contemplate the thought of him having to fight for her attention, her affection and her devotion. "The Alpha?" He found himself speaking to Clohe at his side, "Is he mated?" Clohe exhaled out of her nose, "Nope. No one has been able to keep his attention this long until Mira showed up." A low growl
