Mira stood in front of the mirror, looking back at herself. Her breath caught in her throat as she didn't recognise the young, attractive woman staring back at her with shiny hair flowing in waves down her back. The small black dress that Clohe had lent her enhanced her curves, which she had no idea were beneath her usual sweater and jeans. Clohe strolled in with a set of ruby earrings that complemented her ruby pendant as she turned to her side. Both Mira and the Alpha felt in tune with their bodies as they walked into the club where the dance was being held. They had many eyes watching their every move as the Alpha led Mira around the dance floor. He held her close, nudging her hair as he got drunk off her scent. Mira felt dizzy with lust, her body felt like it was on fire as she tingled all over. She raised her hands, and she slid them over his torso until they landed on his chest. She then gently pushed him back as she needed to create some distance between them. She wanted to avoid giving him or their audience the wrong impression. Mira stilled her beating heart. The Alpha Kings' eyes, too, shone brilliantly when he looked at her. "Please, rise to your feet. There is no need for an Alpha King to bow in my presence." She cooed as she snapped her hand back as she felt like his feverish skin had scorched her fingertips. As the Alpha King rose to his full height, Alpha Bastion stepped forward. "Thank you for coming to my aid." Mira felt compelled to thank him in front of their audience."If you didn't show up when you did, I'm not sure what I would have done to Beta Daniel." The Alpha King watched in slow motion as Alpha Bastion made his move and kissed Mira; his intended. He closed his eyes as he tried to concentrate on the sound of Mira's heart that thumped against her chest in an uneven rhythm. The scent of her arousal assaulted his nostrils and he could feel the rage slowly consuming him. "Uh, such a brute!" Clohe whispered as she stood next to the Alpha King with her arms folded across her chest. THE ALPHA KING opened his eyes gradually. He cocked his head back and regarded the moon while quietly cursing the Moon Goddess for placing the Alpha in his path. He knew that his mission to retrieve his intended wasn't going to be easy, but also didn't contemplate the thought of him having to fight for her attention, her affection and her devotion. "The Alpha?" He found himself speaking to Clohe at his side, "Is he mated?" Clohe exhaled out of her nose, "Nope. No one has been able to keep his attention this long until Mira showed up." As soon as everybody turned around and faced the wall of trees, the atmosphere grew dense with uncertainty. The trees danced as the night's chilly breeze whispered through the air, and the breaking of twigs grew increasingly audible through the silence that had surrounded them. Mira held her hands out at her sides as she was getting ready to draw from her source of energy if she needed to. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, and she could feel the presence of death hovering like a menacing cloud above them. Whatever was coming from beyond the trees, she knew it wasn't going to be pretty. But Alpha Bastion laid a heavy hand on her shoulder, "Save your energy, it can't be safe for you to draw from it repetitively. Tonight my pack will protect you." ALPHA BASTION slid across the damp grass on his knees, leaning right back as he slid between the Orakcilars' legs. It dropped to its knees, writhing in anguish, as he ripped its legs to shreds with a roar. He swiftly rose to his feet and returned to the Orakcilar. He wrapped one leg around its neck, pinning it to him while he grasped its head in his hands, and twisted the hideous creature's head, ripping it clean from its body. As he was tempted to look it in the eyes, he hurled the head across the grass, watched as it rolled over the ground, and then found himself bowing to the deafening roar that enveloped him. He tried to get to his feet but quickly found himself sinking further into the ground as he had lost control over his body. He jerked his head back in the direction of the Moon, his eyes gleamed brighter than the sun on a vibrant day, and he let out a roar that matched Miras'. HOURS LATER, Mira found herself perched on the wooden log that was stationed in front of the flickering fire pit with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Even with a warm blanket and a fire burning in front of her, she could not prevent the chill from creeping up her spine no matter how firmly she tugged at the blanket's edges. She tilted her head back and gazed at the sun that was gradually making her appearance in the clear sky as it played peek-a-boo between the clouds. She let the sun's gentle beams caress her bare face, savouring the scant warmth it provided. "This pack will never be the same because you FAILED to protect them when they needed you the most." She whispered, directing her cruel words to the Moon Goddess that she could no longer see perched in the sky.
