Chapter Twenty Five

I let go of Jed and charged into my room. Aura stood in the corner, the other wolf dead on the floor by her feet. I looked between her and the dead wolf. Jed jumped on me from behind, I was so stunned to see the dead wolf, I had forgotten he was still attacking. We both rolled across the room, Jed tried to grab my throat but missed, instead he grabbed my side. I snarled in pain, I heard snarls from behind me as the familiar scent of Delmor and Hector filled my nose. In seconds, Jed was thrown to the floor, Delmor ran to the other wolf not knowing if it was still alive. Hector grabbed Jed by the neck, Jed stopped fighting, not wanting to die, Hector killed him anyway.

I was a bloody mess, I went to Aura, I didn't care that I was bloodied, I held her in my arms. "Aura, please tell me you are not hurt."

She nodded, "guard, guard, guard," she was stuttering, too afraid to talk.
