Chapter Thirty One

Aura’s POV

I was happy to be inside again. The fading scent of my mate made me sad as I inhaled remembering how much my life had changed when I woke up here. I quietly made my way down the hall, I stopped at the door. I pressed my ear against it trying to hear if there was anyone outside, I couldn’t hear anything. Slowly I turned the nob, I peered out through the crack, but nobody. I opened the door enough to squeak through. I stepped out into the hall. It was strange to be here without him. I could see some pack members as they moved about. I had to get to Valerie without being seen. I looked around, there were statues of various wolves and other things around the hallways. I snuck to the closest statue, I peered around it looking for anyone who could have seen me. Nothing. I did the same with the next statue, once again, nobody seemed to notice.
