Chapter Thirty Three

Draven’s POV

I hate this, I want to be with my Aura. Trudging through a swamp looking for more enemies, my mind went back to my love. I hope she is staying safe, the guards I posted to watch over her are as loyal as they come. I pulled my thoughts back not allowing myself to think too much, I know she is safe, she has to be. A big wolf with a scar across his eye jumped out snarling at me. I held my sword, he lunged hoping to grab my throat. I swung my sword in one swift movement cutting his head from his body. I watched as he dropped. I looked around sniffing the air for any other scents. It was too quiet; I knew it was only a matter of time before a new battle replaced the last. I watched the trees, brush, and anywhere else wolves could lie in wait. I knew there could be a wolf nearby. Every sound, every leaf blowing in the gentle breeze could mean death.

“Alpha, there is a group of wolves coming this way,” Delmor’s voice rang through the link. “It seems to be about fifty.”
