The minutes seemed like hours as we waited for the convoy to arrive. I couldn't help but be on edge. I knew Luna Adina would never lie but maybe she had been hurt enough to lose her memory? I would have to wait till they arrived and see for myself. Aura was lying down on a cot I had brought in for her. The twins both slept in their bassinets. I hoped for her the reports were true, Luna Adina had indeed made a miraculous recovery. I heard the code word come through telling us the convoy was here. Aura's POVI spent the day trying to take care of the twins without my mate's help. I was tired after a long night of mourning the loss of Alpha Oren. It was very sad. Draven stood in front of everyone as we all said our goodbyes. Most of Brightmoon's pack had perished in the attack. I had no idea how Luna Adina had made it out alive. The moon was bigger than I remember. The last time I saw it I was standing with my mate, now I am alone. How could I have let this happen? I need her, I can’t live without her. I took a sip of my scotch before hearing what sounded like a scuffle outside my door. "Shut the hell up!" I snarled. I gulped the last bit of scotch as I stood up. Why did these idiots insist on bothering me! I swung the door open, the hall was empty. I slammed the door, as I strode back to my desk, I grabbed another bottle of scotch before settling down in my chair. I poured myself another glass, as I was about to take a sip, I heard the noise again. I slammed my glass on the desk. "Who ever is out there come here now!" I roared using my command. The door opened slowly, standing there was my Beta and his mate. I signaled for them to come in. "Alpha Karn, we have come to ask your blessing, we have discovered my mate is indeed pregnant. Aura's POVI woke up to find my Draven curled around me. The twins were sleeping soundly in their bassinet. I snuggled deeper against my mate. I let his scent soothe my worry. I couldn't help thinking about the young she-wolf locked in the prison. What if she was being hurt or worse? I wanted to go to her, to see for myself she is being cared for but that meant returning to the hell I had lived myself. I cringed as the memories started their relentless assault on my mind. I closed my eyes as I remembered the first time the guard had raped me. I have come so far from the scared little she-wolf I had been. Carefully I wiggled out of the grasp of my mate. I grabbed some clothes and threw them on, I quietly left the room. The twins were having bottles now with my milk, my body knew they needed to eat and was producing enough to feed a small army.
