Leaving Nicole

Aiden's Pov

"I'm a monster, Nicole. I'm —"

"No, you — "

"Shh!" I placed a finger to her lips to silence her. "I'm a monster and you denying it doesn't change what I am. I can't stay with you anymore. I can't subject you to that danger. I can't subject anyone to that danger. Besides, the maids would talk."

"Let them talk. I can handle them. You don't have to leave, Aiden." Tears were starting to well up in her eyes and I looked away, unable to look at her.

"It's for the best, Nicole. Why can't you understand? I need to figure this out myself. I need to understand what's wrong with me and how I can control it."

"I just said I will help you out!" She yelled.

"No, you can't!" I yelled back. "You can't help me figure this out and I will not let you endanger your life by remaining here with you. I gotta leave."

With that, I stood to my feet but Nicole held me back as usual. Tears were streaming down her face and she was shaking her head at me.
