In the middle of the night

In the middle of the night, when everyone was fast asleep, that was when it happened: The long-planned war Jared had looked forward to.

It had begun with a chaotic noise that had woken Alpha Velvet up. She had always been a light sleeper but had become a lighter sleeper after that dreadful night her pack got attacked and her family killed.

Ever since then, she woke up at any slight movement and it had taken Aiden some time to assure her that everything was fine now and she need not be alarmed by every noise.

Though Alpha Velvet had managed to calm down with Aiden's assurance, this noise had woken her up and that was because it was quite strange and very chaotic.
