Chapter Eight

Alyssa glanced at her phone and noticed that she hadn't received any text message from Alex yet. While she was eager to finalize the contract and become the wife of a mafia don, she didn't appreciate wasting her time.

After losing her parents and taking over her father's company, Alyssa developed a strong sense of punctuality. She had always been someone who valued being early and respecting time.

Alyssa hesitated as she reached for her phone, contemplating whether or not to call Alex once again.

Alyssa was concerned about giving off the impression of desperation to Alex. She didn't want him to perceive her as someone who was solely focused on finding a husband quickly before her time in life was up.

Speaking about her death Alyssa had made some rules that she was going to uphold once she signed the contract and also she had made one wish concerning the contract she wanted to sign and that was the only thing she hoped and wished that Mr Mafia would accept.

Alyssa kept checking and checking her phone for the message Alex told her he was going to send but there was no message coming through.

So Alex decided to call and ask if he was going to be free to sign the contract today or not, as she placed the call to him; it said his line was busy so she ended the call and concluded that he was busy so maybe they would be signing up the contract again today.

Alyssa being sick made her have a headache most of the time and when she is stressed out she starts losing balance and finds it difficult to sit still.

That was what was happening to Alyssa at these moments. After dropping the call she started finding it difficult to stand properly so she sat on her bed, placing one hand on her head and the other hand grabbed her bed tight making her head spin. She couldn't control the pain anymore so she started looking for her piles to make her relax.

She saw the drugs in the drawer beside her bed. So as she took it she quickly claimed her bed intending to relax her head a bit before she drifted off to sleep.

Alex couldn't figure out where to meet up with Alyssa so they could sign the contract he thought and thought of a place they could go and just sit and discuss the contract before they signed it.  But he couldn't think of anywhere.

Alex didn't want Alyssa to get the impression that he was a nice person,  he just wanted her to know how ruthless and cold-blooded a person he was. That was why he didn't want to take her to any restaurant or bar to sign the contract.

After all the consideration he finally decided to hold the meeting with both of them in his house,  there was no other perfect place to sign the contract apart from his house since Alyssa would soon be moving in with him after they agreed to the contract and signed.

Alex picked up his phone from the table and texted Alyssa his house address and told her to meet him at his house by 6 p.m. so they could just sign the contract over dinner and get it done with.

After Alex texted her the address he knew he had to print out the agreement and give it to his secret lawyer for accreditation before it was 6 pm. He had lots of things to do but he just wanted to get done with these contracts because of how important it was for him to have a wife now.

Alex was in a situation where he needed a wife quickly because he was about to enter into a significant business deal. However, the investor, Don, had a requirement that he only work with married individuals. Don believed that if someone could successfully manage a family, they would be capable of handling any other aspect of life, including business.

Alex quickly informed his security men both in the office and his house to be on alert in case of his brother's strike. He also informed them about Alyssa's visit but they needed a photo to be sure she wasn't one of Tony's puppets.

Alex had lots of connections and with that, he was able to get a picture of Alyssa where she had received an award for one being of the most hardworking business ladies in town.

He was quite impressed that she was a busy woman but that didn't change the fact that she was on his bad side not his good side.

After he sent her picture to his men, she called a chef, the one that usually prepares meals for him on specific occasions, and told her to prepare a dinner for two for him.

After he was done with that, He went on to continue working in the office as he had lots of work to finish off.

After work, he still had a few hours before the dinner contract night.

He drafted out the agreement and afterward, she printed it out and took it to his lawyer.

Upon getting to the law office his lawyer was not there so he had to wait till the lawyer was around, it took the lawyer a few minutes to arrive.

And it's not like Alex couldn't send someone to come do this work, it's just that he wanted to do anything that had to do with the contract by himself.

"Sorry for wasting your time sir," the lawyer said to Alex as he lowered his gaze from his eyes.

"You know how much I hate it when people waste my time, Mr Lawyer," Alex said coldly, sending shivers down Mr Lawyer's spine.

"Am sorry sir and an emergency came up" The Lawyer said as he got right into work.

After lots of reviews, they finally got a better contract than that which Alex had drafted earlier.

Alex said Goodbye to the Lawyer as he left the lawyer's office and drove straight home hoping everything was in place and Alyssa hadn't gotten to his house.

He had called the chef earlier and asked if she was done with the cooking and she told him she had finished preparing the dinner as he had asked.
