CHAPTER FOUR.

Alpha Dominic woke up immediately his alarm went off and turned it off then came down from his bed after opening his curtains with his remote.

He had a lot of work to do at the office the day so he didn't have the luxury of sleeping in for any more minutes when he knew what was waiting for him.

He headed for the bathroom and brushed his teeth then wore a vest and sweatpants before heading downstairs to his gym.

He was going to skip jogging for the day because he had to hurry up and go to work earlier than usual so he'd start with all the pending approvals waiting for him on his desk.

He took a towel this time before leaving his room and once he got down, he saw Ferdinand with a towel at the end of the stairs. Dominic smiled at his butler victoriously as he waved his towel in the air and Ferdinand gave a dimpled smile.

"ah, I see you bested me today"

he said and Dominic gave a slight nod.

"you know I love to be good at everything I do and one of the I things must be good at is of course, not forgetting so I didn't this time"

he replied cheekily as he went towards the gym

"you're not jogging today Alpha?" Ferdinand asked and Dominic shook his head

"nah, I'm skipping today, I'll just use the treadmill" he replied and Ferdinand nodded.

"Okay then, I'll go and supervise breakfast while you get ready for the day"

Dominic saluted and winked before he turned around and left for the gym at the far end of the corridor that was at the left hand side of the living room of his penthouse. Ferdinand smiled to himself before he walked off to the kitchen to start the supervision.

An hour later, Dominic was done with his exercise for the day and he rushed up to have his bath and got dressed in his suit; a black pair of suit with a sea blue shirt. He didn't use a tie. He brushed his hair and checked himself one last time in the mirror before going downstairs to the dinning room to have his breakfast.

The table was set and he liked what he saw as he sat down and the maid served his coffee while another gave a handkerchief to wear over his chest while eating... that was it felt like to be the alpha of such a prosperous pack, you get to be treated specially.

Once he was done eating, he left for his car that was already parked in front of the building entrance and all he had to do was get in and drive off to his office. He turned on the radio and tuned it to a station that played the sort of music he loved; pop.

Minutes later, he was at the office and his car key was taken from him by the company valet to be parked at the parking lot while he walked into the building and every worker bowed and greeted him until he got to his office and went in. He met his secretary at the reception and she bowed to him too

"good morning Alpha''

she greeted and he nodded at her as she stood up to face him

"morning, any messages for me?"

He asked her and she quickly typed on her computer.

"Yes there's one sir, a message from Mr Williams about the meeting concerning the contract deal. It will be held today at exactly 2pm"

she said and he nodded while going to his office. She quickly took her notepad and followed him into his office.

"There's also a meeting to be held with the vice president thirty minutes from now on matters concerning the company. After that, you have some documents that need to be signed and you're done for the day"

she accounted while Dominic wrote on sticky notes and glued them to his table so he won't forget his appointments

"okay thank you, you can get back to work"

he said and with that, she bowed and left.

It was time for the meeting and William came into Dominic's office with a file in hand. He sat opposite him on the chair at the other side of the table and relaxed in the chair as Dominic watched him.

"Hey Will good morning"

he said and they shook hands

"good morning Alpha, slept well?"

Williams said and Dominic nodded

"yeah, I definitely slept well"

he said and with that, Williams opened the file he brought with him to a page and pushed it to Dominic

"that's the contract. I'd like you to go through it thoroughly before the meeting so you'd know what deals to make with them by then"

he said and Dominic nodded as he dragged the file towards himself and began to read it while silence elapsed for some minutes in the office and Williams waited. Soon Dominic was done and he smiled.

"The deal is good except I want us partnered for a longer period. I'll talk to them during the meeting and request for a longer period. Hopefully, we end up on the same page"

he said and Williams just shrugged.

"I know you can do it, you always get the contracts and deals done alpha"

he replied and Dominic smiled at the compliment

"that I do"

he said and they both laughed.

"Ok, we'll have to talk about the company being set up in Argentina. They're almost done with setting up the building and some workers will be transferred there from different branches for the meantime until we employ new workers to take the jobs there so they can come back. I calculated it all and all of these, including bagging this particular contract with a company that's showing interest to partner with us will take exactly two months to get done with… I have it all scheduled and planned already, Alpha. We just need someone to go there as a delegate"

Williams explained and once Dominic has taken the whole information in, he replied

"I'll go for the two months. As the CEO, it's best to go by myself and see how it goes as a branch we just opened"

and Williams nodded in agreement

"I'll let your secretary know about it then, it'll be added to your future schedules"

he said and jotted in his pad.

The meeting was over so they pushed the file aside and Williams turned to him with a serious expression this time which made Dominic wonder what it was he wanted to talk about.

"So I heard… I don't know how the talk started but rumours have been going around that you just found out your mate is a human. Is that true?"

He said and Dominic sighed. He was sure it was his father's handwork. Once a word was let out, even if it was a mistake, it was bound to spread around the pack in a very short time no matter how hard you tried to stop people from talking about it. Now he was sure that more than half of the pack knew his mate was a human already.

"It's true isn't it"

Williams asked him again.

Dominic glanced at him before rolling his eyes and sighed again.

"I'm sure it was my dad, he must have told someone"

he replied and Williams whistled before he laughed

"wow, that's a first for me. Having a human as a mate is really shocking for me. So tell me, how did you find out about it?"

he replied and just as Dominic was about to reply, Audrey his zeta and James his gamma came in and sat beside Williams on both sides. They had obviously eavesdropped on the conversation with their wolve's sharp hearing because they held mischievous looks in their eyes and Dominic knew he was done for because they would use it to mock him until they felt like stopping.

He palmed his face for a while then took his hands off and looked at them all, they were waiting for him to speak and Audrey looked like she was sitting at the extreme edge of the chair in suspense

"c'mon Dominic, tell us"

she urged him on and he explained it to them; how his father came over and dragged to the priest Fergus's place to consult him and he was told that his mate is a human… It was strange because it had never happened before but Dominic was happy that at least he had a mate.

"I just have to meet her, priest Fergus said she'll come to me"

he finished and they all just stared at him for a while before they recovered themselves.

"Wow, that's huge. I've never heard of that before. A human mate… I just hope all will go well between both of you"

James said as he sat back in the chair and Williams nodded in agreement.

"It won't be easy though. You should know that because she obviously won't know about werewolves, you'd have to reveal yourself to her eventually but will she still accept you for who you are or not?"

Audrey spoke up and they all turned to her as she snapped her head to look at Dominic.

"By the way, why would the moon goddess even mate an alpha with a human when it's clearly not supposed to happen?"

She added and James replied

"I'm guessing maybe it's a mistake" he said and Audrey shook her head.

"She's the moon goddess, the Luna. Of course she's not the type to make such a mistake"

she defended and Williams spoke this time.

"You'd be surprised when you learn no one, no gods or goddesses are above mistakes… no one or thing is really above mistakes or completely perfect. We're all beautifully flawed in our own ways''

He said and everyone went silent for a while again as they stared at him and he noticed which made him laugh

"what?" He asked them.

Dominic who hadn't spoken since after his explanation replied

"we know you're married Williams but did marriage also make you a poet?"

He asked and everyone laughed.

"Love's got him fucked up"

James teased and Audrey interrupted

"it's time for lunch already. I'll order for us" she said cheerfully and ran off to her office to get her phone.

She was the youngest among the four of them and they had been friends since grade school. They went to the same high school and university too then graduated and did their internship at different locations but emerged among the best then they formed this team that now led to the company being passed down to Dominic from his father once he was seen as capable to continue the family business.

Soon Audrey was back and the delivery guy was right behind her, his hands filled with bags containing their lunch.

James pointed to a table and the delivery guy dropped the food then bowed to the alpha and walked out after he was paid with the company card. They dug in and ate in silence until they were satisfied and a janitor was called to clean the office.

After that, they chatted for a while, then everyone wished alpha Dominic the best in his love life; whenever he was going to find the mystery woman he was mated to and they all dispersed to go and continue their work for the day in their various departments that they oversaw.

His secretary came in to remind him ten minutes to the meeting for bagging the contract and when it was time, he was at the boardroom already with the other businessmen, so the meeting commenced.

After two long hours of deliberating and giving each other offers, both parties came to an agreement and Alpha Dominic won the contract… just like he always did. He got back to his office and his secretary congratulated him before she left since work was over for the day.

Audrey, James and Williams were in his office and as he came in, they congratulated him too and started a little office party within themselves since other workers had left for the day.

Dominic was happy, he joined them to celebrate too but what dominated his mind was meeting his mate and he was worried that another full moon which was also his birthday was already around the corner. He hoped he'd meet her soon… just like the priest said.
