CHAPTER SEVEN

The little ray of light that managed to come into the room shone on Samantha's face and she opened her eyes, facing the window, it was a Saturday. She reached for her alarm and checked the time, it was already 8am. She sat up in bed immediately as she wondered why it didn't ring and woke her up. A sharp pain shot through her head from her fast as she sat up, and she winced as she cupped her head in her hand in pain. Then she remembered all that happened the previous night. She felt deflated as she sighed and slowly came down from the bed to search for Olivia in the apartment.

She opened the door and the scent of sweet corn soup and fried leeks greeted her and she instantly knew Olivia was cooking hangover soup for her. She walked to the kitchen and saw Olivia at the cooker stirring the soup in the pot "hey.. I knew you'd wake up with a hangover so I made this for you" Olivia told her and Samantha groaned as she sat on a chair at the dining table "you shouldn't have, I'm not eating it anyway"

"Why?" Olivia queried immediately and Samantha just shook her head "I'm not hungry" she replied with a frown and looked away from Olivia's piercing eyes "Samantha" Olivia called and walked to meet her at the dining table. "You're going to eat no matter how much you want to sulk. Now take this, they'll help for the headache" she said and dropped a glass of water and two pills of aspirin that Samantha took immediately and with a groan, she asked her to bring the soup if it would make Olivia feel better.

With a smile, Olivia fetched little into a bowl and gave her then fetched hers and joined her on the table where they ate in silence. The atmosphere felt off, Samantha clearly didn't look like she wanted to talk about the previous night and Olivia was scared of bringing it up as she kept on stealing glances at her to see if she was really feeling a bit better from her face but it was blank and her eyes, well they were blank too. They finished eating and Olivia took the bowls to wash while Samantha went off to the room to have her bath for the day. Olivia went to the room and packed up her things that littered, then helped arrange the room before she took her bag and went to the living room to wait for her to come out so she'd tell her she was leaving.

While watching a show on the TV, Samantha showed up in a fresh set of pajamas, her hair up in a bun over her head but still looking a bit wet because her locks were darker than usual.

She still had her poker face on but her eyes looked exhausted this time. Olivia wished she could do something to help her feel really better and probably forget Jace and the whole drama with him for a while. "Hey I'll be leaving for work now, I'll be back okay" she told Samantha and she nodded as she took a bag of chips from the cabinet then came over to the living room, sat on a couch with her legs crossed on it as she watched the TV show "bye" she replied and Olivia watched her for a few seconds before she left. It was best to remain silent, she was still recovering from the hurt and shock, she needed the time.

Samantha just sat there watching the show but it felt like she wasn't hearing what they said, it was like she was in an entirely different place that was filled with the images of Jace and the new neighbor the last night. She felt tears coming again but she quickly pushed it back and sniffed as she filled her mouth up with chips to distract herself from crying, it felt impossible to get rid of the deep pain that twisted her in her heart. When she couldn't stop the tears anymore and a few drops trickled down her face, she went to the room and hid herself under the blanket until she slept off.

Time went by rather quickly and soon Olivia was back from work and at Samantha's place with two shopping bags in hand and a mischievous smile on her face as she searched for Samantha until she found her sleeping in the room.

"Hey wake up, I'm back" she said tapping gently on her shoulder and Samantha opened her eyes "what?" She asked confusedly and Olivia's smile grew wider as she threw her hands in the air "we're going clubbing" she yelled out in excitement and Samantha just chuckled "definitely not going" she said and laid back, covering herself with her blanket.

Olivia frowned and pulled the blanket off her immediately. "How do you think Jace is feeling right now? What do you think he's doing? Probably fucking that new neighbor right now on her couch but you're here sulking over him when he doesn't give two fucks about you" she said and Samantha frowned back "yeah it's natural to sulk Olivia, my husband cheated on me and I'm expected to be sad about it. I can't just be happy when my husband broke my heart" she retorted and Olivia rolled her eyes "that's why you have to show that son of a bitch that you don't fuck with him anymore. Show him you're still fine even though he cheated and his ego will be deflated. Listen to me and get dressed into the dress I bought for you, let's go clubbing and get your mind of that douche okay" Olivia insisted, hoping her words would convince her as they stared at each other until Samantha sighed and came down from the bed then stood opposite her "so what am I wearing?" She asked and Olivia smiled before she started pulling out dresses and shoes from the shopping bags "we're going all out okay. We're going to look damn hot and sexy tonight" she said and Samantha chuckled "whatever you say" she replied and took the dress she gave her to put it on…

Three dresses, a hair styling and intense makeup later, they were ready and out of the apartment. Samantha looked breathtaking, she wore a bright red body hug strapless gown that stopped on her laps, she wore heels, had her hair all wavy and falling down her back; the red locks looking amazing with a smokey makeup that made her look sexy and badass.

They got into the elevator and once they were on the first floor, they got out and met Jace there in the lobby. He stared at Samantha just as she stared at him with empty eyes for a long time before he spoke up "where are you going to Sam?" He asked and before she could reply, Olivia butted in

"I'm sure it's obvious where we're going… now if you'll excuse us, cheat" she said and pulled Samantha along with her gently and stopped a taxi once they got out of the apartment building.

***********************

Dominic walked into his club and the music was in full swing. He observed for a bit and he saw everyone was being attended to at the bar, they all looked satisfied and that was enough for him. The bouncer at the door bowed once he saw him and he nodded at him before heading to the VIP section where he normally sat anytime he came over to his club. It was situated in the busiest part of the city which meant it was far from his pack. Williams gave him the idea years ago, to open up a bar club and he did and it worked out just perfectly. The club became popular almost immediately and he made sure to maintain the standard of his club, the customers first.

Minutes later, a bottle of his regular wine was brought with a wine glass and he told the lady to bring one more glass… Williams was coming to join him later on after he finished with his work at the office. They decided to come to the club and supervise since it had been a while since they went there.

Williams later arrived while Dominic watched everyone beneath dancing and having fun while drinking. "Hey man" Williams greeted while he sat beside him and they shared a handshake "hey, you're here" he said and Williams nodded "I finished quite early so here I am. How's the club? Everything all right?" He said and Dominic just nodded "I haven't met the manager yet but we will once the crowd reduces" he replied and Williams nodded in agreement before he reached for the wine and poured for himself in a glass.

They drank and just watched in silence while Williams was busy typing away on his phone. Dominic smiled to himself when he thought of how the people would react if they knew the owner of this club was a werewolf… an Alpha at that. They would most definitely go crazy and never come back. He laughed to himself at the random thought he just had and Williams looked at him "what's funny?" He teased and Dominic just shook his head "nothing serious, just random thoughts"

"C'mon, care to share with me?" Williams asked in curiosity as he nudged him with his elbow.

The drink in Dominic's hand shook from the way Williams nudged him and half of the glass content spilled on his suit. "Fuck, Alpha I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to… it was a mistake, I'm really sorry" he apologized profusely when he saw the mess he had caused and Dominic just shook his head

"It's fine Will, I'm fine. I'll just head to the restroom and clean up as much as I can then go home while you sort out the club matters with the manager" he told him and Williams nodded

"Ok, go ahead then. I'll take care of everything" he replied and Dominic smiled and patted him on the back before he left for the bathroom after taking a napkin from a worker that gave it to him when the wine spilled on him.

He turned on the faucet when he got to the men's restroom to wet the napkin which he used to try and clean the place where he got the wine on, on his jacket. He saw it wasn't working and hissed in frustration at the little patch his attempt had created on his jacket.

He took off the jacket abruptly and stormed out of the restroom; back into the noisy club where he tried to maneuver his way through the crowd and out into his car that would take him home.

He got close to the bar and overheard someone clearly talking about him "Olivia, is that a man in a suit in the club?" The woman's voice asked as she laughed and Olivia replied "he looks funny" and they both laughed. They were obviously drunk because nothing they said was funny and he didn't look funny!

He turned to where he heard the voices and suddenly he froze once he caught a wisp of her scent, it was just the scent he had always wished to perceive once he found his mate. Was she?... She was, she was his mate. He had found his mate. And she was beautiful, he just stood there transfixed watching her as she danced and drank while laughing with the woman she obviously came with until the other lady walked away with a man that approached her and told her bye. He noticed her sigh and decided to walk up to her. He couldn't just let this opportunity pass him by in meeting his mate. He was close to the bar already when she suddenly stood up and walked away and that was how he lost her, he searched through the crowd for her and checked hard but he didn't see her, she was gone, his mate was gone and he wasn't sure if he would meet her again… then he remembered the priest's words "...she'll come to you soon"

He really hoped she would.
