CHAPTER 2.5

Melody whispered to herself as she watched him run across the forest. From her elevated point of view, she could see everything from the top of the hill. She wanted to get down there and help Drom reach the army, but the army men kept staring at him like they had seen a ghost, perhaps they had.

“Lady Melo! What are you doing, help me maintain the barrier! We have to hold it before Daito gets here!”

“Right! Sorry,”

Melody strengthened the hovering ring with her own magic, she was still worried about Drom, but eventually, as she looked down she saw a group of soldiers detach themselves from the rest of the army and approached him.

On the west side of the battlefield, the refugees had managed to squeeze themselves out of the line of fire. The army had surrounded their escape to make sure no foreign hostile could reach them.
