CHAPTER 3.0

The day was still, humid, and cold. The villagers went about their everyday lives, their interests and work preoccupying them. On her way to the rice fields, was a pretty maiden. Walking down a narrow path lined with shrubs whose hard limbs protruded into the path, attempting to scrape her knees.

She hopped over the branches now and then, singing a soothing tune to herself to make the trip more bearable. She was on her way to give lunch to her two brothers, who were working alongside other villagers in the rice fields. Harvest season had arrived, and they needed to harvest as much rice as possible before the rains arrived and left the field too muddy to walk on. As she walked through the lane, mud collected on the bottom of her dress.
