Dominic’s storyThe days I spent here with Rebecca were dreamy, but even now, after all this time, I couldn’t mark her. She’s barely gotten used to the idea that I was a raging wolf, and now I had even suggested she marry me. It wasn’t even a question. I had so many problems in my life and so many secrets that Rebecca didn’t know yet. How could I make her all mine? Anyway, I didn’t feel any danger of her backing out.It was still evening when I proposed we just go for a walk on the huge beach in front of the house. And there she was, in the dim light of the moon. In a casual red floral dress that barely covered her upper legs, with her hair in a ponytail and a small shoulder bag and her sunglasses. She was a natural beauty. My eyes got mesmerized by her ravishing being. It was just a dress, a bag and a pair of sunglasses, but the way she wore them made her so desirable. I could already imagine my hands tracing the fire under that dress and her responding to my every touch. I just wa
Dominic’s storyI’ve barely been able to sleep since my conversation with Declan. Zack was up to something and now he had accomplices. What was worse, those accomplices were from Declan’s circle. I was still wondering what Barnett was doing in the clinic? What was more important was that Rebecca was under no circumstances to find out.We only had time to sip our coffee, and we were off to the airport. I so wanted to see Declan today to try to unwind Zack’s visit. “Are you sure you’re okay, love?” suddenly asked Rebecca as she found her seat on the plane. I could hardly mask my concern, and she seemed to realize that something was wrong. Lucky for me, I could blame our quick departure. “I’m fine, I guess. I’m just sorry we had to leave Bali like that. But I promise we’ll make time to come back.”“I’d like that too. I’m sorry we had to leave like this. But we’ll have to get back to our business” “There’s a big event coming up soon, my love, and I wouldn’t dream of you not joining me.
Rebecca’s storyLeaving so immediately as soon as we got home intrigued me so much, but I wasn’t too worried. Declan was his best friend, and I really wasn’t that concerned. Anyway, today, even though I was tired from so many hours of flying, I intended to meet up with Eve. I really wanted to involve her in my next project. Plus, I really needed a little fun. But before I met Eve, I had to see Logan. He just phoned to tell me there was a new assignment. I couldn’t go to the agency yet, so I was going to meet him at my apartment. “Welcome, Logan. Please, come in,” I urged as soon as I met him at the door. “Wow, you’re so tanned! I see you got your Bali sun right,” he couldn’t help his comment or smile. “Hey, cut the jokes and come on in. We have things to talk about,” I replied breathlessly, slamming the door behind him. “Tell me, I know you followed the case of the rescued girls in Bali. I want some updates” Logan made himself comfortable on the living room couch, sipping from th
Rebecca’s storySomehow, I had no choice but to take Emily’s hand and walk out of the restaurant. First stop was my car. This man was causing me anxiety, and I barely started the car. It was clear he was following me. I still hadn’t even gotten over the episode in the woods near the set where Dominic was shooting. Out of fear, I didn’t return home to my apartment but to Dominic’s house. Luckily, he was there. I almost slammed the door when I walked in. “Rebecca?” He asked worriedly approaching us. I locked the door, then looked at him with wide eyes. “I saw him, it was him... he’s following me...” I was breathing heavily and barely keeping my heartbeat in check. “Who’s following you?” Dominic’s voice though it was of normal intensity. I could barely hear him. He then rushed to get me a glass of water, because I was hyperventilating. With difficulty, I sat down on the sofa in the living room. After a few deep breaths, I recovered a little. “Okay, you’ve calmed down. Now start tel
Dominic’s story“You have to get out of New York! And as soon as possible!” Lost in thought, I flinched when Dominic stormed into the house. But even so, I wasn’t at all thrilled with the way he approached the issue. “What do you mean, leave New York? I don’t think I heard that very well. And besides, why would I leave Dominic? You think I’m afraid of that man, Zack? No way!”“I advise you not to play with his nerves. You don’t know him; you don’t know what he’s capable of.” I could barely control my own nerves. “You know what? I’m not afraid of him? Why would I leave? Why would I change or even stop my life and leave the places where I was born? My hometown? Never!” Dominic’s face suddenly changed. He had become angry, but I would do nothing to calm the situation. Why should I?“I don’t think you understand how serious this is. This maniac has been hunting me for decades and now that he’s found me, he won’t stop at just me. He’s going to hit you too!” “I understand very well! Wh
Rebecca’s storyI wished Dominic had an answer to my question. And it wasn’t the first time I’d asked him this, but each time he avoided the subject. I didn’t know the reason, but it was already frustrating. I was also the one who gave up looking for explanations. And it wasn’t because I didn’t really want to know, because I felt a tremendous pain in my heart, but because somewhere along the way I realized that this subject was affecting him, too.The love between us was growing every day. Every second it deepened. And he never missed a moment to show me that. Even if there was this one doubt, my soul was at peace. I didn’t even feel how this week passed. In between preparations for Emily’s book release and the premiere of Dominic’s movie, I also had some time to meet up with Logan to discuss the progress of the drug case. And because I had planned to involve Eve in this book project today, I was going to meet with her. I needed her as an ally. She was a very important pawn. She w
Rebecca’s storyEmily Parker’s book launch day. The place she chose was, as I expected, the Karma ballroom. It seemed so right for her. I was still at Dominic’s house, trying to carefully choose what I was going to wear for the evening. The situation was the same for him. In the end, I chose a knee-length, red dress with straps and lace back. I tied my hair into a bun at the base of my neck with a few curls framing my face.“Wow, you look beautiful, love!” “You’re no less,” I replied, smiling, delighting in how perfect and masculine he looked. The black ebony suit suited him, and the back combed hair made him even sexier. He came closer, as if reading my mind, and reached around my waist, holding me tight. His musky scent was driving me crazy, and he knew it and even took advantage of my weakness for him. “Is your lipstick transfer resistant?” He asked, running his thumb over my lips. As soon as he confirmed this, he seized my mouth in a deep, passionate kiss. I returned his kiss
Rebecca’s storyEverything was ready for today’s barbecue, right down to my mood. I quickly got over who Olivia was. But I really couldn’t give myself away with so many people there. My undercover mission wasn’t over yet. And because Olivia was in charge of the London branch, she knew about my mission. Now all I had to do was keep it cool. However, I was sure it would be a light day. “They’re here, Dominic! I’ll go greet them,” I said excitedly, heading for the door. I unlocked it and invited them in. “Welcome,” and my eyes met Olivia’s again. I flashed her a wide smile, which I then showed to everyone. “We’re so glad to be here,” Emily replied, holding out her hand first to me and then to Dominic. One at a time, everyone walked past us all and settled comfortably on the terrace. It was a pleasure to have them in our home, especially knowing what tied me to them. “Make yourselves comfortable. I’ll go get some lemonade. In this heat, I suppose it’s perfect. Emily, will you help me?”
