Chapter 28 Cain After Eric abruptly ended the call, anxiety hits me and I knew I needed to find Hadley, my wolf paced my mind and would not have let up until we had seen her ourselves. When I saw Hadley on that bathroom floor covered in blood my heart nearly stopped, I thought that after all this waiting, I had found her only to lose her again. Seeing how pale she looked I swept her up and took her to my home, I did not want to return to the packhouse and possibly have to share her with Zylith, or anyone else for that matter. Chapter 29 Hadley After explaining that Zylith was not the love of my life, Cain guided me downstairs to the others and I apologized for my abrupt and very rude exit. Everyone was more than understanding, kind even, which only made me feel like more of an asshole. Cain told me that we would all be having dinner after eight. Erica swept me away for the day. Chapter 31HadleyAttempting to sneak back into the lounge was a resounding failure. Everyone gave us knowing glances and after passing the mirror above the console table I knew why. My cheeks were flushed and my hair a bit messy. From my rose cheeks, erased lipstick and the fact that Cain and I had been all alone, it was pretty obvious what went on.Everyone chatted till late at night and I have to say, it was the most fun I had in a long time. Chapter 32 Hadley That night we couldn’t sleep, we probably needed the rest but my stomach wouldn’t allow it, doing constant flips and I considered not going a few times. We dressed warmly and prepared ourselves for the trip as best we could. We dressed warmly and rummaged the closet for any comfortable walking shoes.
