Warily, I looked into the doorway but there was only a few steps before a staircase went down into an underground part of the castle. It smelled like something was dying or decaying and I held my hand over my nose. I walked in and looked behind me, the door had a handle on the inside. Neither Vale or I slept the rest of the night. We must have looked like zombies coming down to breakfast but no one fucked with us. Suddenly, I felt very glad Vale was avoided. They basically played the cup game and mixed together, then went separate ways. Pipsqueak is tracking their movements through as many cameras as she can get ahold of. He took the phone from my hand but I didn’t let it go. My eyes locked with his as he looked up at me, confused as to why I wouldn’t let go. “I know you’re upset. This might make it worse. You need to understand that you aren’t the only one in pain. You aren’t the only one who loves him. He may be your mate, but he is also a friend, a son, a member of the pack and family.
