I thought I would add an extra chapter for everyone! Thank you so much everyone for your patience!
I took a deep breath. This was far worse than what I thought. Pipsqueak had traced Vale’s BMW close enough to show that it was only a few hours from the pack house. It hadn’t moved for a week. Pipsqueak couldn’t pinpoint the exact location unless Auri went out with the phone. To be able to triangulate the signal. Something was blocking the signal from coming through. I paced the tiny fucking room. She had hung up when Simon showed up. They were going out to see if they could track down what the hell was going on. I asked her if I should talk to Vale and she said it would be up to me. Of course, Auri immediately disconnected and I didn’t get a word in edgewise. I fucking hated when she did this to me. Leaving these huge decisions to me. Now, I had paced myself into a hole for the past fifteen minutes.'Just go in and tell him. At least you two can worry together.' Rydere chimed in.Ezekiel was part of the family. I liked the kid. He was a good Alpha, a good mate, if not a little immatu
Neither Vale or I slept the rest of the night. We must have looked like zombies coming down to breakfast but no one fucked with us. Suddenly, I felt very glad Vale was avoided. He was so numb at this point, looking like a hollow shell of himself. The Alpha didn’t care but I could tell High Councilor Mark definitely gave him a few looks of confusion. Nothing was ever said out loud though.Cracking my neck, I stretched. We needed to focus. We needed to reign in everything. We had to for the sake of the six little kids now trapped in a fucking cell.“So where is the training grounds? I feel like beating the shit out of something.” I cracked my knuckles for emphasis.“Sorry. We don’t allow outsiders to fight in our training grounds.”My brow furrowed. “Why the fuck not? Wouldn’t you want to show off your might? Or learn a thing or two from wolves coming into the pack? Seems like a damn fucking shame. I wanted to beat the snot out of some pups.” I laughed but holy hell did it sound hollow.
Vale stared at the floor. I could pick up his heartbeat as it raced but nothing showed it in his features. His face was blank as he bore holes into the floor. Looking back at the phone, I saw Simon also watching intently. Every once in a while though, he would look up over the phone. “So, what’s next?” I finally broke the silence and asked. Simon’s head locked back onto me. “Well, right now, we are tracking down the three SUV’s that drove off in the beginning of the video. They basically played the cup game and mixed together, then went separate ways. Pipsqueak is tracking their movements through as many cameras as she can get ahold of. We took one of the SUV’s and she is still tracking the other two.” I nodded. “Tracing where they went narrows our search considerably.” He nodded but I saw his lips press together. “What?” Simon glanced at Vale who still hadn’t moved. “All that footage is from a week ago. We are days behind them at this point. I don’t want to say that we might not e
He took the phone from my hand but I didn’t let it go. My eyes locked with his as he looked up at me, confused as to why I wouldn’t let go. “I know you’re upset. This might make it worse. You need to understand that you aren’t the only one in pain. You aren’t the only one who loves him. He may be your mate, but he is also a friend, a son, a member of the pack and family. It’s not just you in pain.” He growled and pulled the phone out my my hands. I watched as Vale phoned Auri. It was understandable how upset and angry he was but this was bigger than him as well. The fact that he still couldn’t feel anything through the bond seemed to be a good sign. Auri proved that she could be far away but still made Logan feel her pain of her dying. The death of a mate could be felt anywhere. No matter how far away you were. We continued to find that out the hard way. Bryan was in Europe when Denise died. He said he felt every bit of it. Not the pain beforehand but her death for sure. Bryan pic
Of all the idiotic plans, this one had be up there on the dumbest fucking plans to date. Especially when lives were at stake. I pinched the bridge of my nose; like mother like son. The two of them were definitely going to get me killed one day. I couldn’t believe I lasted this long anyways. Every day was a gift and here was that gift being ripped out from under me.He made it sound so easy. Go down an empty corridor, find a hidden door, head down, grab six kids, and walk on out of the territory to a waiting group of vampires and witches. Huffing, I threw my hands up.'He’s very much our loves son.' Rydere chuckled.'Sure. But shall we list off the things that could go wrong?' I paced in the small room.Rydere rolled his eyes and laid down. 'I’m sure you will tell me anyways.''Not only am I going to have to go in unseen, somehow find this magical door that Vale described but I’ve never seen. Go down and somehow convince six children that I’m a good werewolf when they have been deathly
'Check the perimeter.' Rydere barked at me. I looked around outside but I didn’t see anyone. Taking a deep breath, I ran, making sure all four were following. They were and we stopped at the end of the castle. Now was the biggest stretch of land between here and the forest. My heart pounded in my throat. We were so close but there were five warriors were lollygagging out front. Crouching down, I motioned around the corner, and I held up five fingers. Dylan shook his head and whispered. “We won’t make it.” I nodded and closed my eyes. 'If only they were small enough to fit in a backpack.' Rydere mused as he paced. My eyes widened. 'That’s it!' I set the two down onto the grass and had the others huddle together. Going back into the kitchen, I searched around the cupboards until I found a large table cloth. It was a dark green and I smiled. Heading back out, all of them froze until they say it was me. “I’m going to shift, kids. Get on my back. Dylan, throw the cloth over and tuck
The Alpha stood up, eyes wide. “Leaving? Like going back to fight later?” The warrior shook his head. “No Alpha, they packed up their camps and tents and left. Went back to their homes. It’s over.” Vale looked at me and smiled, I nodded back to him. “Well now, that’s great news!” Mark, the Alpha, and Beta Joshua smiled exuberantly and clapped each other on the back. As though they did something that warranted this celebration. “Let us feast! Tell everyone but the scouts to head back to the castle. We shall have a full spread prepared! I would like the scouting groups to eat as much from the food prepared for today as they would like but keep an eye out to make sure there is no trick.” “Yes Alpha!” The three disappeared out of the tent. I sighed and stretched. “Well, that was anti-climatic. Should we head back?” “Yes, yes I think we should. I think after a couple days of ensuring that there is no trick, we can be out if you’d hair, Alpha Niles.” Mark smiled and I almost snapped m
A week after the death of Alpha Niles, Vale and I welcomed Alpha Evan and his Luna Naomi, with their pup. We had had already taken care of the vampires and it turns out, there were only a few that were holed up in a building just outside of the pack territory. Vale already had passed on the title of Alpha, introducing the whole pack to their new Alpha. I had never seen so much elation and suddenly the pack turned back into a place they could call home.We were still here though, trying to sort out the ridiculous amount of issues that the previous Alpha and Beta left behind. There wasn’t much I could help with so I started up on a new routine for the warriors so they would be better off then the ridiculous routine they had previously. I also took over the scheduling for the patrols in the area. From what I understood, the two High Council members were still at the witches coven, trying to sort out some other issue there. I had stopped by a couple times to see the kids and they seemed v
