Chapter 1. After the divorce

By the time Keelin stepped out of the court, the sun had already reached its zenith.

So the marriage that lasted for 3 years has ended.

Keelin didn't know how to feel right now. She leaned over to look at the man behind her, Lars, he's still like that day, nothing had changed.

Keelin loves Lars, loved for five years. From the first time they met in the yard of Nevy High School, she fell in love with that cold man. He's mature, more mature than anyone his age. He is extremely talented, although he is cold and difficult to approach, he is very popular with teachers and friends at school.

Keelin for a single eye contact that determined a lifetime. She took the time to approach him, to get his attention, she didn't miss any chance to be with him. But during the two years of pursuit, the result she received was still zero, he showed no sign of being 'fallen down' at all.

After many failed attempts, in an accident, Keelin achieved the desired result

On the night of the graduation party, Keelin and Lars suddenly had a one-night stand. Originally it was just an accident, but Keelin took advantage of this to keep Lars. Not long after that, they got married in the blessing of Keelin's friends and pride.

Thinking back, Keelin sighed. Now she knew how childish her decision at that time was.

“It's been a while… bothering you. So sorry. From now on, I will definitely not come to bother you again,” Keelin said honestly.

Lars looked at her silently, but there was an undercurrent in his eyes.

The young girl standing in front of him is now much more mature, her face is moodier, her figure also shows more curves. She was no longer the impulsive schoolgirl she used to be, no longer the energetic girl running behind him.

A moment of loss surged in Lars's heart, the loose hand he unconsciously gripped was hidden behind his back.

“If that's your decision,” Lars said.

Keelin looked at the man's still cold face as before, but inwardly couldn't help but laugh at himself. It's been five years, from college love to married life, he's always been the same, unchanged, so what else can she hope for.

Keelin gave a small nod in lieu of greeting and turned to leave. From today, the two of them were officially strangers.

Lars watched as Keelin slowly disappeared from his view, he wanted to move forward but his stiff legs wouldn't move. His face darkened, his hand hanging loosely under his heavy breath.

Maybe, this is the best ending for both of them.

Eira sat silently looking at her friend on the opposite side, curious eyes as if trying to find a special point.

Keelin just got a divorce, the paperwork is done, but she's weird. No crying, no fuss, no saying anything, her face always maintained a silence that made it difficult for Eira to see her thoughts.

“Kee, are you okay?” Eira asked softly, her voice careful as if she was afraid that she would accidentally touch some key point.

"There's nothing wrong with that, it's just a divorce," Keelin replied.

“I fell in love with all my heart, but he still has no vibrations. A love without results, such a breakup is not a pity, " Keelin added. She admits that she still loves Lars, but she is past the time when she only thinks about love. She had a long way to go, and the Morales family as well, being the only daughter in the family, she couldn't forget her responsibilities because of love.

Seeing that Keelin had thought this through, Eira felt much more reassured. Every time Eira remembered how Keelin frantically confessed her feelings to Lars before, Eira couldn't help but feel the hairs on the back of her neck. Luckily, it's all over.

“So that's fine. You're young, you can still start over.” Eira comforted softly.

“What makes you think I'm going to 'start over'?”

"Huh? Aren't you going to …?” Without waiting for Eira to finish his sentence, Keelin stood up, the smoothie on the table had been empty for some time.

Eira didn't think much of it, but hurriedly chased after Keelin, raising her voice questioningly.

The sky turned dark and then black as coal. Tonight, a cloudy night, large clouds obscured almost all the bright moonlight, giving it a gloomy and eerie feeling. Lars leaned back on the couch, he was still wearing his gray shirt as he was in the morning, swinging a glass of Fino Sherry in his left hand.

Keelin once said, this is her favorite wine.

This is not a very strong wine but has a distinctive taste. Sweet and juicy, once used for a lifetime, just like her.

He doesn't know if she remembers or not but their first night, he has never forgotten. And at that time, he wasn't so drunk that he lost consciousness.

But what does it matter now? She’s already gone.

Glancing at the boss through the gap in the door, Finn couldn't help but sigh.

Apparently, Lars also has feelings for Keelin, even stronger than her, but he can't say it. To blame, can only blame fate.

Finn quietly pulled the door closed. His boss is completely unfit to work now.

A week later.

Seeing parents get in the car and leave, Keelin immediately flipped the blanket and jumped up. She waited for this day for a long time, finally, the opportunity has come.

Breakfast just ended, so there weren't many maids in the room outside, Keelin peeked out, she looked left and right, then took her bag, and crept step by step.

Suddenly seeing a figure, Keelin immediately hid behind a large pillar. The man had just left, and she continued to carefully walk down the stairs.

Once, twice, and thrice, Keelin in turn avoided all the eyes of the servants and smoothly walked out to the gate. But, suddenly.

“Lady Keelin.” A male voice called out.

Keelin was startled and ran out of the house despite the calls from behind him getting louder and louder.

Running to the main road, Keelin immediately stopped a taxi that was traveling at a slow speed nearby and jumped into the car.

“Girl, you …”

“So sorry, please speed up, I'm in a hurry”

The driver didn't think much, and immediately pressed the gas. And just like that, Keelin was completely free from the security guards in the house.

Keelin breathed a sigh of relief, she had just opened her bag when she saw Eira's three missed calls on her phone screen. Keelin paused for a moment, then decided to turn off the engine and talk to the driver.

“To Ramos mansion”

The driver nodded, the car still maintained its speed.

Keelin looked outside and sighed.

One day after the divorce, she immediately discovered that she had forgotten an important object at the Ramos mansion. Originally, she was going to pick it up that day but was discovered by her mother. Mrs. Athena was only afraid that her daughter would use an excuse to return to Lars Ramos, so she completely ignored her words and directly locked her in her bedroom.

If it was not for Keelin sneaking out today, she doesn't know when she would be able to get that important thing back.

The car stopped in front of the Ramos mansion, Keelin paid the bill and hurried inside. Not long after entering, she received a call from Eira.
