Chapter 8. Let's get married again.

Hearing the familiar voice, Keelin remained in the same position, not turning her head. Only Martin turned to look, he bowed his head:

“Mr. Ramos, good morning. I'm the garden designer, Martin.”

Lars glanced at Martin and then at Keelin, but all he saw was her straight back.

Lars walked over to the tea table, still wearing his suit, apparently, he came looking for Keelin as soon as he got back from a business trip. But unlike the image he imagined in his head, Keelin was no longer happy, running to the gate to welcome him like before. Lars couldn't help but feel disappointed.

Sensing Martin backing away and Lars pausing beside the table, Keelin flipped through the catalog pages and said coldly:

"You are home? Welcome back”

Although it was 'welcome', Lars couldn't hear any cheerfulness in those words, and suddenly felt angry.

"Aren't you here to welcome me?"

At this time, Keelin looked up at Lars, no longer with a passionate gaze, no longer attached, nostalgic, but simply like long-time acquaintances meeting again.

“No, welcome, anyway, this is your house.”

Hearing Keelin's lie, Lars didn't know what to do no matter how angry he was.

Glancing at the excavated garden, Lars slightly frowned and asked:

“You want to rebuild this garden?”

"Yeah, can't it?" Keelin raised an eyebrow. Obviously, she wasn't afraid Lars would object, she knows it well.

But looking at Lars' displeasure, Martin didn't think so, he assumed Lars would get angry and force Keelin to restore everything back to the way it was.

As a result, Keelin was the one to guess correctly, Lars' next reaction made Martin not believe his eyes.

Lars didn't object, he suppressed his anger and let out a breath

“You can do whatever you want. It's just that in the future, before you do anything, please let me know, I will help you, at least find someone who can trust.” As he spoke, Lars glanced at Martin, his gaze not very friendly.

Martin reluctantly took a step back.

At this moment, Keelin suddenly said:

“The other is possible, but this one is not necessary, I truth Martin, he is familiar with and understands my preferences, easier to work with” Keelin's words were simply a sentimental comment of a customer but unintentionally lifted a storm with Martin.

Lars's face darkened. Martin just stood behind him looking at his back, but he also felt a chill.

Doris and the people working around did not make an appointment, but both felt pity for Martin.

Just when everyone thought Martin was going to ‘die’, a female voice suddenly sounded:

“Lars! Turns out you're here. Oh hello, Keelin, long time no see.”

Keelin's hand unconsciously clenched, she didn't need to look at her to know that the person who had just arrived was not a stranger but Clara Diaz, Lars' ex-fiancée.

Seeing Keelin's unusual reaction when Clara appeared, Lars felt a little better. He softly said:

“My partner this time is Miss Diaz, so she will come here often to discuss business.” As he spoke, Lars peeked at the change in Keelin's face.

Before, when Clara appeared, Keelin was very angry and often teased her because Keelin didn't want her to get close to Lars. But about three months before the divorce, Keelin's feelings for Lars were no longer as passionate as before because she had given up hope for this marriage. Even though Clara appeared beside Lars, Keelin didn't care anymore, she lets Clara do what she wants without any comments.

Currently, thanks to the incident of revealing his identity, the relationship between Lars and Keelin has changed. Therefore, this time he deliberately brought Clara back to help promote feelings between him and Keelin.

But what surprised Lars was not over yet.

Apart from the clenched fist, Keelin didn't show any other strange expression, she replied nonchalantly:

"Yes, long time no see"

At this point, if Lars could stand it any longer, he would no longer be a descendant of the Ramos family.

Lars suddenly came forward and grabbed Keelin's hand.

“What are you doing?” Keelin stood up, frowned, and spoke.

"Don’t say anything, just follow me" Lars said angrily and pulled Keelin toward the garden gate.

Clara saw it and called quickly:

"Hey, where are you two going?"

“Doris, reception” Lars echoed, and continued to drag Keelin straight into the house despite her shouting no.

Doris looked at the situation in front of her with a puzzled expression, but still quickly reacted, taking Clara and the living room.

Clara saw that Lars was so concerned about Keelin, then angrily stomped her foot, and followed Doris in a bad mood.

In less than 2 minutes, only Martin remained in the corner of the garden. He took off his hat, wiped the sweat off his forehead and sighed.

"Hurry up and go home, this place is scary"

Lars dragged Keelin into the reading room and slammed the door shut.

Keelin indignantly said loudly:

"Are you crazy!"

“Yes, I am crazy, it’s not because of you?” Lars locked the door and turned to face Keelin.

Keelin looked at Lars' exasperation and couldn't help but feel ridiculous

“What did I do that you said was my fault?”

"You ignore me, don't care about my feelings. As soon as I got back to the mansion, I came to look for you, what about you? Digging up the garden with the advice of another man, who gives me permission to bring him here?"

“Martin is just a gardener. Besides, since you're allowed to bring women back to the mansion, why can't I bring back men?" Keelin's intentions are clear. If Lars can bring Clara, Keelin can bring Martin. Plus, this is the first time Keelin bringing Martin here, and Clara, how many times has she been here?

Understanding Keelin's point, Lars was also unreasonable, unable to argue. Only then did he realize how wrong his decision to bring Clara back was. Not only did that not improve his relationship with Keelin, but it also made things worse.

Lars lowered his eyes, stepped forward, hugged Keelin, and said softly:

“Kee, I'm sorry, I was wrong. But why are you so cold to me?"

Lars' sudden change in attitude stunned Keelin for a few seconds. But she didn't let this state go on for too long.

Keelin pushed Lars away slightly, took two steps back to keep some distance, and said sternly:

“The reason is very simple, it is because we are divorced, Lars, I have no reason to care about you anymore, because you are as happy as before anymore. Lars, you should understand, that I agreed to stay here just to make up for those 3 years for you. Of course, I will definitely keep that secret for you, so you don't have to worry, you don't need to overdo things like that."

Keelin's polite tone on the contrary made Lars more uncomfortable and insecure. But thinking about something, he suddenly became happy again

"If you say so … Let's get married again."

Keelin looked at Lars and rolled her eyes.

"I am not crazy. I won't marry the same person twice, don't dream"

“So… let me pursue you… can I?”

“What… what? What are you saying?” Keelin couldn't believe what he just heard.

She loved him with all her heart, wholeheartedly for the marriage, but he did not change. Now just because she knew he was a vampire, he said he wanted to pursue her? What does he consider her to be?

“Lars, while I still have some feelings for you, I hope you have acted without thinking. I told you, I will definitely keep your secret, you don't need to do that. That's really cruel to me," Keelin said helplessly, her eyes watering as if she were about to cry, glaring at Lars with disappointment.

Seeing Keelin like that, Lars almost panicked, he said quickly to retort:

“No… not… I…”
