Chapter Fourteen

Eve giggled for about three seconds and swung her head from left to right in disagreement.

"What are you saying? You are joking right?" she demanded with her arms spread wide open before Henry.

Henry adjusted the leather belt around his waist. "I'm not joking young lady, I'm married." he maintained.

Eve smiled and began taking a few steps toward him but he prevented her from coming closer by placing his right hand before her. "Don't come near me ever again. I told you that I'm married," he screamed and turned around backing her.

The shocking confession pierced Eve's heart. She felt as if a dagger was plunged into her heart. She held her forehead with both hands as a wave of dizziness took over her entire body. She pressed her eyes and took a few steps backward Eve tried to settle on the kitchen counter but she ended up falling to her knees on the floor.

She sat on the floor while trying to catch her breath. She then hugged her knees with her chest as hot tears streamed down her cheeks
