Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Six

"Come in!" Phil responded from the inside and continued scribbling down his notes. He didn't take his eyes off the manuscript.

The door to the office was pushed open and Eve walked in, hanging a handbag around her left arm.

"Hey, Phil!"

He lifted his head and allowed the pen to slip through his grasp. He sighed in relief and threw his head back. "Thank Goodness Eve!"

She smiled and settled on the chair opposite him. She cast her gaze on the messy table and noticed the littered files and papers.

"Did you miss me?"

Phil arched a brow. Of course, he missed her. Her absence for the past two days had proved to him that two heads are better than one.

"Where the hell have you been?"

She crossed her legs and cleared her throat loudly. "Fixing myself. I've been fixing myself."

Phil stared at her with a blank expression. "Fixing yourself?"

She flashed a quick smile. "That's by the way. I'm back now and that's what counts."
