Episode 2

Dimitri

What! I finally voiced out, standing on my feet, as I stare at him with fury blazing through my eyes. What was this and why does he always have to show his face and just mess my life as always.

"So, all of a sudden father you want to stop fighting your greatest enemy, or is this some strategic to destroy them," I asked him hoping this wasn't in any way what I thought it was.

"No son, the two families both agreed to this. And this is the best way to end all of this. We can't keep fighting with them. Do you realize the number of men we've lost over time because of this consistent conflict going on between us," he said sounding displeased?

"Do you know since my dad was in charge till my time and now to you, the fight hadn't stopped yet, both families are powerful but the thirst for more power and glory has made us become enemies even when we could live in peace and mind each other business," he stated leaving me speechless?

I couldn't believe that this was the same man in front of me, who made me go through so many pains in training, just to become unbeatable on the battlefield. I couldn't believe he was the same man, who had sent me to the front line when I was barely fourteen years. I couldn't believe he was the same man who had made me train with an injured arm for nights and here he was looking for peace.

Dad, are you okay? I asked calling him the very name I dared the most "dad".

"You called me dad, cause you think I have gone insane," he said chuckling but it didn't get me affected even if it was the very first time in so many years I had seen him even smile.

"Well if it pleases you to know son, I am fine, I am doing fine, and I am in no way insane," he added standing on his feet and arranging his coat like he always does whenever he was ready to leave.

"I see like always, you want to end this discussion here, without giving me a reason as to why you suddenly want to have peace with the Russian," I said and he started walking away.

"And I hope dearly, that everything you've said here about peace better be true. But in any way, if I should find out that this truce between the Russian was not just for peace but mainly for your benefits, I'll cut off your head," I said meaning every word I said as my veins popped out showing visibly on my neck.

He paused for a moment and stare at me before forcing a smile on his lips.

" Worry not Dimitri, just get ready to meet the family and also prepared the finest kinds of gift because we do have to impress them and show them how much it's important for peace to reign between both families," he said and resumed walking.

"I never agree to do this," I said to him through gritted teeth.

"Oh you will, after all, you dearly loved the women of this family and you would do anything to protect them," he said with a wild grin and I knew very well he was referring to mother and my sister.

"By the way, your mother is under their custody until you give them a reply within seven days," he said and walked out of the door, clearly glad about the position he has placed me in.

Why did you let them have mom? I screamed at him, as my eyes suddenly turned red. He knows full well how much I love her, and how much I'll do anything, just anything to protect her.

"Oh this isn't in me, your mother knew the kind of person you are and offered herself to them, in her words *only then would you make a befitting decision," he said turning his back to stare at me as he stood outside the door...

Fuck, I cursed silently. "Why does she always do that? Why wouldn't she let me think of other ways to go on this matter. And why does she always agrees with dad and whatever he says? I know she's supposed to support him but not in that way," I thought sighing deeply.

"Make the right decision for your mother's safety, cause we fully well know that you can't rescue her out of this, without it ending badly,". He said distracting me from my thoughts.

"I'll leave you to think this true, while I await your response," with that he walked out of the room leaving me buried in my own worried thought just like always, causing me to kick the air in frustration.

I paced through and Fro, thinking on plans to rescue mom, without endangering her life, but then deep inside I knew that it was going to be inevitable. I knew that no matter how hard we try it might all go wrong and mom might be in danger.

"Even if we do succeed, it might only aggravate the Russian to further attack us and leading to more fight and death. Which honestly I wasn't in any way ready for. I just didn't want any more blood shedding to continue," I thought still pacing around the room as I couldn't come up with any solution at the moment.

Boss, I heard Yuri's voice again, bringing back to reality, as I turned to stare at him from where he stood outside the door, peeking his head inside.

You are pacing around boss, did he say anything displeasing to you?, Did something happen?, He asked and I could feel his concern in his voice, but that did not soften my face at all. I fully well know he is concerned but then they weren't going to bring a solution to the Matter at hand.

"Make preparation, we would be going to Russia to see my bride soon," I said in finality while he stared at me dumbfounded.

Bride? He questioned himself utterly shocked...
