As soon as the meeting was done, I was ready for bed. I was totally exhausted. Luke followed me up the stairs to our bedroom. I woke the next morning, before dawn, and got up to get dressed. I decided on a pair of blue jeans with a royal blue tank. I threw on a black, long sleeve, button up shirt. I rolled the sleeves up to three-quarter length and left the buttons undone. I sat on the chair at the make up table to put my black Nikes on, then put on light make up and brushed my hair. I stood up and looked back at the bed. I sat on the edge of Luke’s side and bent to kiss his cheek. Almost everyone in the audience raised their hands with excitement. Blaze continued, “We are building an indoor Winter Park! There will be an area for skiing and snow tubing, an area for snowball fights, an area that has an ice castle to play in and to build a snowman, and there will be a snack bar area where pizza and hot chocolate, along with other favorite snacks, can be found. What do you think of that?” Everyone applauded with way too much excitement. I slump, “I totally forgot about my luna ceremony. I guess I should put a different shirt on for travelling then.” Luke smiled, “Why? We’re just going to be flying home. Hugo gently raised his head and stretched his nose to meet my face. I gently held his head and kissed his nose, “My sweet Hugo. I love you so much. Are you okay?” Hugo nodded his head. After we ended the call, Luke was looking at me with his brows furrowed and head cocked to one side, “Are you okay, love?” I was bawling like a baby as I buried my face in his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and rubbed circles on my back, calming me. When I was finally able to dry my tears, I breathed in his scent for a minute to calm myself a little more. He asked, “Are you ready to tell me what is going on?” I smiled as I looked into his eyes, “It worked. All of his tumors are completely gone. As she lunged for me, I noticed that she had a knife in her hand. Luckily, she is much older and slower than I am. When she tried to stab me, I grabbed her wrist and used it to twist her arm behind her back. I pressed on the pressure point on her wrist to make her let go of the knife and grabbed her other arm to do the same. When I woke the next morning, I walked downstairs to get a cup of coffee after doing my morning routine and decided to go out to the back yard and see if we have any more berries to pick. As I walked through the yard with my coffee cup in my hand, I started seeing black, or dark, dots mixed in with the green leaves. I have ripe berries! Shit! I forgot something to carry them in! I walked back into the house and grabbed a bucket from under the island, then walked back out to the bushes. I noticed that we have ripe blackberries and blueberries.
