I hope you liked this chapter. I thought I would give you one in Luke's point of view for a change. Please, as always, feel free to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them.
Sylvie POV I woke up too early the next morning. It was still dark out, but the previous day’s events kept running through my head. I remember seeing a guy take a running jump at me, then a pain in my chest, then darkness, then a doctor standing over me chuckling a little and telling the nurse, “Huh! Looks like her wolf is doing all the work for me.” I asked Nicona, “He didn’t use a silver blade. Did he?” She replied, “Nope. I had you patched up in no time. He didn’t get anywhere near your heart, either.” I smiled, “Thanks.” She responded, “No problem. I didn’t even have to break a sweat fixing this one.” I chuckled at her and asked the doctor, “Can I see my mate now?” The doctor asked, “How are you feeling?” I shrugged, “I’m okay. Just a little sore.” He nodded, “That is to be expected. You’ll need to take it easy for a couple days, but I have no doubt that you are fine. Your wolf does some really quick work.” I laughed, “That’s because she’s used to it.” The doctor just shook his he
After breakfast, we all sat in the living room, discussed the things we need to do today. I suggested, “We should interrogate that guy early so we can get home. Today is the day we have your parents over for one of my grandma’s home-cooked meals. She’s going to want to start working on that soon.” Grandma chimed in, “Don’t you worry about me, sweetie. I can get your grandpas to take me back this morning while you are doing what you need to do. Don’t you let me hold you up. I know you won’t be late for it.” Every man in the room, including Luke, shook their heads, “No way.” I just shook my head and laughed. After we saw the ones who chose to go back leave, we joined King Parker and walked to the dungeons. As we approached my attacker, I had to control my breathing and try not to lose my cool. I wanted to see if I could find out what this guy’s issue is before losing my cool. When we got to his cell, I could tell the guards had roughed him up a little on the way down there and maybe a c
King Parker looked at Zion with curiosity, “How can you help us with them?” Zion smiled, “I was approached by my sister, Misty to work for them. I know she is dead, but she introduced me to them before she died. I almost went to them after she was killed, but then I found out that they killed her.” I asked, “What did Misty want you to do for them?” He replied, “I was supposed to throw some wolfsbane grenades. They want to capture a bunch of different supernaturals for experimentation. They want a male and female hybrid. Misty insisted that it be you two because of what happened with my grandparents.” I shook my head, “Seriously? I really wish people would take responsibility for their own actions and put blame where it truly belongs.” Zion responded, “I’m learning that the hard way. I want to thank you, princess. I know you didn’t have to be this lenient on me. I truly appreciate it. I also want to thank you, King Parker. You didn’t have to take her suggestion, but you did.” King Parke
We called for everyone to come to the conference room and Blaze stood up front, “We just intercepted a message from the guild to the hunters here in Hartsel. It reads, ‘Received word of multiple targets. We will be there to start planning in six days. We have to travel under the radar. We will be bringing the whole guild and our equipment. Purchase a building in human territory that will be big enough for all of us and the equipment.’ I will be bringing in another fifty of my warriors.” I gasped, “Shit. We’re going to need as many warriors as we can get. We should prepare for war.” King Parker and Queen Zara arrived during the reading of the message. King Parker nods, “We have three hundred warriors ready to go. We just need to train with the rest of your warriors and develop a plan.” I sighed, “We also need to schedule a mandatory meeting with the kingdom. There needs to be a plan to evacuate those who will not be fighting. I would highly recommend evacuating them via portal or telep
Cedric asked, “So are you saying that Luke’s powers complement yours?” I nodded, “They have since we found we are mates.” He asked, “True mates are such a rarity and a blessing. How do the two of you complement each other in magic?” I replied, “He is horrible with Earth manipulation, so when I do this, he casts a spell to paralyze those who are caught on it. When I open a crevasse in the earth, he fills it with fire.” He nodded in appreciation, “How did you use this?” I laughed, “We put it around the perimeter of the pack in Florida. As soon as the rogues hit it, they started bouncing uncontrollably, then Luke would cast the spell to paralyze them. Then we have the option of capturing or killing them. That’s how we caught the hunters in Florida.” He smiled, “That’s really a very good idea. I really think we should use this.” I responded, “I just don’t know what would happen if vehicles hit it.” He laughed, “Well, the heavier they are the higher they will bounce. I would think that they
We walked into the conference room and found King Parker with the rest of the alliance sitting around the table. We all took our seats and King Parker started speaking, “Well, everyone, it’s looking like the hunters are moving faster than expected. Our gaming friend has informed us that they have already bought a warehouse in the human town of Canon City. That’s only an hour from here. He also found out that they are trying to find more supernaturals to be able to be a mole for them. We were able to verify that the gamers who he is friends with are humans who do not even believe we exist. He plays a game where there are supernaturals at war. That’s why they think the whole thing is just talking about game play. We are doing our best to make them believe that this is all a game and that their search is game related.” Cedric asked, “Were you able to send anyone to the warehouse to verify that what they are saying is true?” King Parker nodded, “One of our scouts who knows Canon City very
King Parker spoke, “I know there has been a rumor going around about hunters coming to our area. Well, there is a very small band of them here now, and there will be five hundred more coming.” There was a collective gasp, then a bunch of whispering and mumbling, but King Parker added, “I know you see all of these species here on the stage. They have all brought in more than enough of their own warriors to help with this fight. We will need it. With all of their warriors, we will outnumber them. That does not mean we are safe. The Fae Realm and all of the were species have developed a very well-thought-out plan for the non-fighting citizens. Everyone will evacuate to the Fae realm. You will be allowed to choose the court you would like to stay in until this war is done. The Fae Realm is where our loved ones will be the safest. Even Queen Zara will be staying in one of the courts, although she never did tell me which one.” Everyone laughed and Queen Zara announced, “I will be in the Eart
Griffin flew down and landed in front of us. As soon as he landed, he spread his wings wide and cocked his head to the side. I grinned widely and stepped into his feathery embrace, “How ya doing big guy?” He chuckled, “I’m well. How are you doing?” I smiled, “I’m okay. We have a shitload of hunters coming. It’s going to be a huge war.” Griffin sighed, “I heard. There are portals going off everywhere. It’s scaring the animals a bit.” I cringed, “I’m sorry, but it’s necessary. We are evacuating all non-combatants to the Fae realm.” He nodded, “I know. I had to ask your mom what is going on.” I sighed, “I’m sorry. We should have warned you in advance.” He shrugged after I stepped out of his hug, “It’s fine. I just needed to get them to calm down. It’s all good now. So, what can I do for you all?” I explained, “We are looking at an entire hunter guild coming after us. Over five hundred hunters.” Griffin cringed as I continued, “We have warriors from every single supernatural species joinin
