I only stepped out of that tiny supply closet once the whole crowd had somewhat dispersed.
The rest of the day flew quickly, a brief tour round school and where my classes would be, some lunch because I was absolutely starving and then I was taken to my room.
The wide space revealed three queen sized beds and beautiful furniture, giving the room a beguiling decor.
I was introduced to my other roommate, Lila. Apparently, Elena’s best friend as well. I somewhat bonded with the girls over conversations on clothes, academy boys and a few topics I was clearly cluelessness about.
Night fall came. I couldn’t sleep.my mind is overrun by anticipation and anxiety. Mostly disturbed by the fact that I’d exchanged words with that devastatingly handsome boy from earlier. Eventually, comforted by the flower murals on the ceiling above my bed, I let my mind wander on what the next day would bring.
Before my alarm could ring, I was up and dashing from my bed, getting ready for school.
I dash into my class more than a few minutes early to set up for my first class, Lupin History.
The first thing I notice as I walk in are the stares from almost everyone. The unsubtle looks thrown my way.
It had been going on since my encounter with him, the school’s infamous jerk and playboy. He also happens to be the future Alpha King of Blood Moon pack. It explains why he had an ego bigger than the size of his abs.
He’s the alleged deadly prince, Silas Bloodmoon, fiercely powerful with a ruthless persona and inviting charm to back it up. Meeting him proves he’s every bit as cold and heartless as they had described, I almost regret stepping in his way yesterday.
I wonder if the stares I keep receiving are ones of admiration or simply curiosity, wanting to see the new sheep before she gets devoured by the big bad Alpha.
Fat chance.
It’s already in my resolve to steer clear of him. There will be no more meeting with the likes of him. He’s bad news. Trouble in a nutshell.
I take a seat by the window, pulling out my note book waiting for class. The sudden stop of mumbling around me draws my attention instantly. There’s an immediate chill in the air and I almost feel my skin crawl.
I turn towards the entrance, knowing the icy aura around originates from there and once again, I’m drowning in a sea of icy gray eyes.
The same devilishly handsome Alpha, Silas Bloodmoon, strides in and with Elena by his side, wrapped round his arm. His entourage of two handsome guys follow closely behind him.
Speak of the devil.
The pressure of his dominating aura is thick and heavy, almost choking in the air. It doesn’t take long for everyone to make way for him and his gang, clearing their seats for him to settle comfortable at the back of the class.
The whole atmosphere is stiff and no one dares to look in their direct or utter a single word. I can literally smell the apprehension in the air.
His scent draws my wolf’s attention. She purrs almost like a cat and I gag internally at her preferences.
I face forward, choosing to ignore them all together. But my wolf scratches against my mental walls, wanting to stare longer. I’m confused by this but I don’t give in to her wishes.
Few seconds of stone cold silence, I start to hear giggling from behind me. It’s a sound that draws me and I feel the sudden urge to look behind.
Something keeps pulling me towards them, to him.
To Silas Bloodmoon.
He’s whispering something to Elena’s ears that makes her giggle and when she doesn’t expect it, he nibbles her earlobe. They seem playful and flirty. Subtly sensual too.
I feel a painful tug on my heart. I immediately swerve my head forward before I’m caught.
My wolf groans painfully, twisting within me. For some reason, she’s been acting moody since yesterday and it seems to get only worse when he’s around me.
The second the teacher walks in and the classroom commences, I force concentration despite the uneasiness of my wolf.
However, I can’t push away the fact that Silas and Elena are most likely in a relationship.
How can she even put up with the asshole?

SILAS’ POV
Her head swings the other way quickly and I swear I had seen a rose tint on her cheeks moments ago.
Good, if she wants to stare, I’d give her something to stare at.
Elena moans softly, reacting to the addictive kiss I’d dropped on her neck and moves slightly against me with a clear purpose. But I’m already uninterested. She grinds her hip into mine, trying to start something but I put a little distance between us.
My wolf feels nauseated by the closeness of her scent ‘cause she’s not my mate, but I can’t complain or say anything about it.
She’s to be my Luna, the future Queen of the Blood Moon pack in a few months and I’ve been nagged enough by my father to make sure she remains happy.
I chuckle at the last words my father had given me, that maybe one day, I would come to respect and even love her as my queen. I highly doubt that.
As always, I don’t have a say in anything going on in my life. I was betrothed at a very young age. As the next Alpha king, I have a lot of responsibilities resting on my shoulders. The crushing pressure of not letting anyone down weighs heavier on me every day.
It’s only fair I get a kick out of all this - afterall, I won’t even get to end up with my mate. I’ve been fated to reject her from the beginning. This is exactly why I learnt to use my charms to my advantage when I want something or someone.
I always get what I want. Always.
female wolves love nothing more than an attractive Alpha male and these ladies are more than willing to throw themselves at my feet…or bed.
It’s only fair I took my reasonable share of them before I’m forced to spend the rest of my life with Elena.
Love is for the weak and pathetic, if at all it existed.
My attention shifts back to the class and my eyes wander somewhere else.
I’m more than eager for the bell to ring so I can meet up with Melissa for her daily dose of ‘devotion’ to me. The naughty girl gets immense pleasure from going down on her knees just to suck me off.
However, my eyes are pulled to her again.
the crazy she wolf who dared disrespect me. I watch intently as she eagerly notes down every word the old man spoke, like it’s some undiscovered philosophy. Her pen dashes across the pages of her note book and she’s done with a new page she had opened only seconds ago. I scoff now.
Nerd.
But I continue staring, unable to lose the subtle curiosity she’d piqued in me. My wolf is intrigued by the gleaming within her eyes. I’m almost impressed by her interest in this extremely dreary class.
It’s ironical, a few moments ago it had annoyed me having her eyes watching me as I walked into class.
I had gotten used to the stares but hers made the hairs on the back of my neck stand and something possessively primal rise in me. I had been painfully aware of her eyes raking over me… then Adam and Lucas.
My wolf growls at the thought of her attention shifting to another male.
“What are you looking at?” Lucas’ voice suddenly pops into my head and my eyes dart away from her quickly.
“Nothing.”
I can feel him smirk as he continues watching me from my side. I grow more annoyed.
“Doesn’t look like nothing though.”
“What’s your point?” I turn to glare at him. It sounds like a question but it’s obvious I’m telling him to shut up and leave me alone.
He smirk remains but gets the hint and shuts up, shrugging as he turns his attention back to class.
The bell rings and I’m on my feet. Elena tries to say something to me but I walk past her swiftly, heading to find Melissa for my next appointment to let off some steam. But Adam and Lucas are behind me as always.
“Adam, did you see what I saw back there?”
Lucas is at it again. He’s playful and flippant personality is at play as he tries to tease me. He flashes a smile weaponized to win countless hearts and break even more. If I was a player, he was the game itself.
I had hoped he’d drop it but clearly, I’m wrong. He starts a conversation with Adam just behind me, loud enough so I’d hear everything.
“What?”
“Silas was totally staring at that new chick that stood up to him the other day.”
“Shit, no way.”
Adam’s gaze turns to me and I’m groaning in frustration. If I don’t clear the misunderstanding soon, I’d have them thinking I’m some love struck psycho who has a thing for girls who challenge me.
“Has the great Silas finally shown interest in anything other than his reflection?” Adam teases with a similar smirk to Lucas.
I roll my eyes at their childishness.
Our friendship dates back to more than ten years starting simply as an arrangement between my father, the current Alpha king, his Beta, Lucas’ dad and the Zeta commander, Adam’s dad.
Over the years, it had grown into something much more. I knew them inside out and yet, I could never get used to just how annoying they could be when they wanted to.
“Quit exaggerating. I wasn’t staring at her, I was just thinking and she was in my field of vision.”
“Thinking about those plum supple lips that told you off earlier, I bet.”Adam jabs.
I frown now, annoyed by the way he describes her lips. Something about it makes my wolf restless.
I shake the thought from my head. The only reason I’m thinking about this too much is because they’re making it into something it’s not.
“She’s the same as every other Alpha bitch in this school, why would I think about her insignificant lips?” I say the words but my wolf disagrees. He’s being more of an ass than usual today.
“Since she’s so insignificant as you say, how about a bet?” Adam’s tone drops into one of mystery.
My ears picks the word ‘bet’ quickly and I know what follows immediately.
Bets were a guilty pleasure, one of the few things that made things fun in the walls of this boring school, that made everything a little more bearable, a break from my strict norm. And I never turn down a game.
“After her little show the other day, everyone’s had their eyes on her like she’s some cool untouchable badass, bold enough to stand against the future Alpha king.”
I snarl at the rumors. I had only let her defy me. It’s clear she was ignorant and I simply showed benevolence by letting her walk off scot free.
“But won’t it be fun if the Alpha king proves that no one is above his authority by making her bow…in bed? ”
I ponder on it for seconds. It’s a few months away, more than enough time to have her feeding from the palm of my hands and worshiping the very ground I walk on.
A devious grin breaks on my lips. I like the idea.
“What do I get in return?”
Adam laughs out now. “Isn’t getting back at her enough reward?”
“It’s not a game unless one party gets something in return from the other one.” I smirk.
“Fine, if you win. You can get us to do anything for you for a month.”
“Three.”
“Fine, three. But if you lose, you have to tattoo our faces on your back and walk round the school shirtless for three months.”
I roll my eyes at it, almost wanting to refuse their idiocy, but there’s no way I’m losing.
“I’m in.”
“Oh, he’s quick to accept. I don’t think this one’s going to be as easy as your other previous flings.” Lucas adds.
“Trust me, she’s no different from the rest of them. Her tough act is just for show. In three days, she’ll be begging me for more.”
No one has ever been able to resist me and she isn’t going to be the first. I can already smell victory. The thrill of the win pumps through me like drugs and I’m all too excited to get her.
Have her arrogant pink lips begging me to take her.
Before we can leave, I hear something - or someone - behind us. However, when I turn, no one’s there.
Must have been my imagination.
Freya’s POVThe school bell rings and the entirety of the class begin filing out just as Silas and his entourage leaves.I pack my notes and leave the class, heading to my locker. I notice stares as I walk into the hall way. I feel their eyes raking over me, from my outfit to my looks. It’s like the whole school is trying to figure me out and I don’t like it one bit.I just want to learn and fit in but the rumors going on about me clearly says otherwise. Like the entire school is waiting for me to do something - anything to entertain them.I finally reach my locker, dropping my history text book. I hear a few mumbling behind me, followed by biting chuckles when I mistakenly dump a few things from my locker to the ground.Frustrated now, I pick them up and slam my locker shut, stomping away. I need just a minute to myself without anyone watching me or talking about me. I walk into the female toilet and dash into a stall, slamming the doors shut.I sigh in relief, experiencing perfect
As soon as the bell rings for lunch break the next day, I’m out of my seat and dashing into the hall way. The main focus on my mind is successfully dodging Silas until the rest of the day is over. If I’m lucky enough, I can avoid him for the rest of the week till he completely forgets about me.Amen to that.I find a snack dispenser and move towards it, picking a granola bar. I should eat more as I’m pretty hungry but I’d take anything over stepping into the school cafeteria, where all the students are gathered - where Silas and Elena are waiting. After popping a few coins in, I pick my granola bar from the dispenser, turning to leave but then, I’m suddenly shoved. The force pushes me back and I stagger, falling on my butt.I groan in pain, wincing with my eyes shut.“OMG, I’m so sorry.”I look up to see a female student I haven’t quite seen before. Her dark blue eyes are heavy with worry and she helps me to my feet without wasting more than a second. My butt is sore and it takes a w
Lunch flies by like a breeze but not the smooth gentle kind that tickles your ears and dances in your hair. It’s the kind that gives you a sense that a storm is brewing. Now, the hallway is filled with buzzing muttering as I leave. They don’t even bother to hide their blatant gossips or whisper at least. I hear it in the hallways when I pass; I hear it behind me in class. They’re all on about Silas leaving Elena and showing obvious interest in me. They couldn’t be farther from the truth.I don’t even know this guy that well and he’s already ruined my school reputation. If only he’ll leave me alone and focus on his actual girlfriend. A part of me knows he’s definitely not going to, and my wolf seems thrilled by it.Damn you.The day drifts and I’m now numb to it all. To sun falls and the night emerges. it’s almost time for the Full Moon ceremony. It’s a ceremony held on the first night of a full moon in honor of the moon goddess. We change into our wolves and run free under its glow,
It’s the longest few seconds of my life. His lips move painfully slow towards mine. In that second, I panic with varying emotions whirling within me, yet still unable to move or do anything.A torch light suddenly flashes in our direction and I regain control of my motor skills. I fly backwards, putting enough distance between us but lose my balance in the protest. Luckily, he’s still holding my arm so his grip prevents me from hitting the hard ground.“What are you two doing here?”The voice sounds like one of our teachers. I’m unable to see the face because the torch flashes in my eye. I say nothing, trying to shield my eyes. However, Silas remains quiet next to me, his jaw ticking in slight irritation - unfazed by the bright lights in his eyes.“Get back to the gathering right now! No loitering about school.”“Yes, sir. We’ll do just that.” Silas answers, being surprisingly respectful and the teacher leaves us sooner than expected. Perks of being the next Alpha king, I presume. If
Our talons rip through the flesh of his upper arm, enlisting a yelp of pain from his lips but I don’t stop there. It’s followed by a blow from our claws, sending him flying a good distance away.Their scent is more pungent than ever and I’m more than sure what we were against.Damn rogues.A shriek suddenly echoes in the air right beside me. I immediately know something bad has happened to Freya. We turn swiftly, growling menacingly at the second intruder standing over her motionless body. My wolf loses sanity, instantly taking almost full control of our body and lunging forward at him.He changes, ripping through his clothes into a dark brown wolf smaller than mine. We brawl for moments; deadly strikes follow after the other. I lean in for his jugular vein but the first pounces unto us from the back, now its two against one.My wolf is fed up with this. He releases a deathly howl into the air that moves the winds and shakes the earth beneath us. The howl of an Alpha King reverberates
I’m discharged earlier due to no injuries or scratches from the attack but still grateful for the brief opportunity to just rest from the whole school drama. The next day, however, I couldn’t escape from it. I am more nervous to walk down the school hallways but Xena had my back through most of it. We’ve grown closer with every interaction and I know we were destined to be friends. The sun is exceptionally hot today and worse of all is we have P.E. I’m mortified, not because I despise running - far from it. I had somehow managed to escape running infront of everyone else at the Moon ceremony but today, the sun was out and bright and the whole class were to participate in the running exercise. It isn’t a race but I couldn’t risk exposing my very inferior physical prowess. The run begins once the gym teacher blew his whistle. Into the vast green landscape of a backyard the school owned. It is somewhat a of jog. No one is supposed to be breaking a sweat, yet with much of my might, it’s s
The pain from the impact stings the tip of my fingers, but the anger within me boils hotter than everything else. His face forcefully swerves to his right and freezes in place. He makes no move to run back to me or say anymore words. All his reaction does nothing but fuel my rage. How dare he try to get to me? I begin to wonder if the whole saving me from getting hurt was some ploy to use me as his next target? If this is just another one of his games. I wonder if he saved those other girls just to use them and toss them aside for Elena. For a moment, I had actually believed he is a good person. His head slowly turns to me and there’s nothing but coldness staring. It’s clear no one has ever dared slap some sense into him, but it doesn’t faze me one bit.He makes a move to speak but I beat him to it.“Look here, asshole. I’m entirely grateful for your help. Do I owe you now? Probably, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to play this game with you. You have a girlfriend, Silas. Stop reeling
Silas POV:Another boring school day. I toss my textbooks into my locker, slamming it shut. Elena stands right by my side, tapping away on the screen of her phone. She’s been more clingy than usual these days and it’s starting to get on my nerves. Sadly, there's only little I could do or say. Betrothed wolves were meant to be seen together always; something about demonstrating the closeness of their bond. A good Alpha is nothing without a Luna, so the saying went. Then again, wolves only felt a strong connection with their mates and even in the rare cases of betrothal, there was meant to be a form of partnership, yet I felt an aftertaste of repulsion having Elena around, hovering about everything I do. I feel no solace in being hers, instead someone else plagues my thoughts every waking moment. It’s like my mind’s been drugged and I can’t think straight anymore.Freya, that damn Freya. Annoying, witty, with a peculiar allure to her. I want her, my wolf wants her but I can’t say if i
