CHAPTER 62: PUZZLE PIECES

FREYA'S POV:

I stand over the edge of our balcony, simply staring into the night, the exact spot he had run off to only seconds ago.

I remain for only a few seconds more before stepping into my much warmer room.

It’s only now that I realize his shirt is still wrapped around me. It’s big enough to wrap my much smaller frame, like a cozy blanket.

His scent is still ripe and pouring out of it.

I take a big enough inhale, it’s almost as though he’s still here, laughing at my not-so-funny jokes and wiping up some interesting comebacks.

Xena is already far gone on her desk, deep in slumber.

I take up her blanket and wrap it around her, not wanting to disturb her much-needed rest before I get mine.

I turn off the lights all the while cuddling in bed with my new adornment.

“Freya, hurry up!” Xena yells incessantly whilst clipping the last strand of hair perfectly away from her face.

I never really understand the need to clip her already short hair, it’s not like the wind could blow it
