She Is The One I Want

Alpha Austin immediately released me, then turned away leaving my back feeling cold and empty. It was weird how used to his warmth I got in a mtter of minutes, and how much I craved to have him back. Hell, I needed him back. But I was just the chanced Luna. The Omega who is going To depend on a man who isn't even hers for her title in the pack.

"Al..."

"You can go now." He said, cutting me off.

I nodded meekly and left, the same way Catherine did. She had this effect on him that I wish I had, this hold on the reins of his neart that I would go to the ends of the world in order to get.

But it wasn't happening, and I knew.

I walked back slowly to the now dispersed gathering. Simon and Eve were still there, probably waiting for me, and Eve ran to me the minute she saw me. Simon followed, but much slower.

"How was it?"

"It was perfect." I answered with a small smile.

"You are one lucky omega, you know that? Alpha Austin dumped that stuck up she-wolf Catherine for you. It sure is a love meant to be. If I recall, you were always in love with him ever since you saw him at his introduction." She clapped her hands heartily, and the happiness was evident on her face.

I was however, distracted by Simon's rather annoyed expression.

"What's wrong, Simon?"

He looked at me, then at Eve, and without a single word, stormed away.

Eve and I made eye contact, and in that an agreement was made. I would go after Simon and she would go back to the room where I will meet her later, ready to spill all the juice.

"Simon?" I called, walking briskly towards the path I thought he had taken. He was nowhere and it only led back to the pack house from where I stood, so I decided to go the opposite direction.

I walked briskly through the small clear path bordered by trees around. The full mood peeked over the branches, illuminating the path like some pointer instructing me on the directions to take.

"Why are you looking for me?"

I heard suddenly, and I immeidately turned to Simon. He was still the same tall, handsome Simon, but his broad chest was sunken, his straight back hunched and his broad shoulders slacked. His hair looked like he'd been running his hands through it.

"Why are you here?" I asked him instead, walking closer.

"So, Hazel...Austin? I thought You would tell me as your closest friend. I thought you were my friend."

"It just happened, Simon, I didn't even have the chance to. And of course, you are my..." My voice suddenly hitched im my throat as he pulled my by the waist, his hand cupping the edge. "What are you doing?"

He didn't reply, just let his other hand run towards to my cheek, then spread his fingers as he cupped my face.

"Stop, Simon." I said, trying to move out of his grip, but he only held me tighter.

"Don't you even see me?"

I scoffed a little then pushed him hard with all the strength in me. He lost his grip on me as he stumbled backwards a little. "See you? Simon, you were with Lily up until a week ago. You were crazy over her and now, what do you mean see you?"

"Is that why you won't let yourself see the man in front of you? Do you think I broke up with Lily because I wanted to be just friends with you?"

I looked at him, unable to find any traces of my friend in the face I saw.

"So, you mean I was some reserve? The woman you come back to after exploring all others?"

He shook his head, then came back to me, extending his hand to my shoulders. I immediately moved away, my breathing coming out in short ragged bursts. So much in just one night, and it looked like I was about to lose my best friend too.

"Look, Hazel. I don't know what's happening to me. I don't know why, but...I really don't want to share you. I don't want to see you being with another man and...I kind of...just want you to...stay with me all the time. I hate that mark on your neck..." He stopped and took in a small breath, closing his eyes for a brief moment.

"Simon, can you please stop this? We have been friends for eleven years and I have seen you infatuated with different girls, till you finally dated Lily. How can you just suddenly realize that I am the only you want?"

He said nothing, even as I waited for him to answer me. His head was bowed, and I couldn't see much of his expression.

"I will take my leave now, Simon. I hope next time I see you, we have both forgotten tonight happened."

I turned and started to walk away, but was suddenly dragged back so violently, I couldn't catch my breath.

"Don't go, Hazel."

"I think it's best if you let her be."

We both turned at the same time, my hair still in front of my face and my heart racing crazily.

Alpha Austin was standing behind us, his face expressionless.

"Aloha." Simon breathed.

"Yes, me. I will take my mate home now, so excuse us."

He was still going to keep up with the mate act even here?

He came forward to me. He looked tired, yet he stood tall.

Simon looked at me, and his eyes held some sort of fear.

"I'm sorry." I said, just as I felt Alpha Austin's electrifying touch spread through my skin as he lightly held my hand. He didn't even bother saying a word to Simon as he pulled me gently away.

My hand that was still in Simon's grip held me back as simon tightened his hold on it.

"Simon."

Alpha Austin turned back, obviously not expecting the resistance.

"I am sorry, Alpha. You can have anyone else, just not her."

Alpha Austin's brows furrowed, and a smile played on his beautiful lips as he tucked his other hand into his pocket and turned his body to Simon.

"She is the one I want." He said simply.
