Chapter 04

Her hands remained on her father's palm and they both gracefully walked into the hall, while Edward awaited them at the other side. He smiled foolishly watching every step she took towards him and folded his arms making them reach the lower part of his stomach.

The veil used on Melissa's face prevented her from clearly seeing him, and it did make her happy she couldn't else she might end up nipping his ears off that instant.

When her dad had finally walked her down the aisle, she remained beside Edward as quiet as she could be until they both turned around to face the priest.

"Do you Melissa Johnson take Edward McDonald as your lovely wedded husband." These words were the most irritating and unpleasant words Melissa heard for a long time now.

It was like asking her to choose between the devil and this bas*ard standing right in front of her. If she had a say or a choice, she would have indeed gladly taken the devil instead.

Realizing she had been soliloquizing for a longer period while staring at the face she didn't want to, Melissa took in a deep breath and decided to just do exactly what she had planned after the wedding.

"Yes, yes I do."

Edward cunningly smiled and after she placed the ring on his finger, he leaned closer to her and lifted her veil so he could see his woman's face properly.

"You may now kiss," The priest said making Melissa turn to look at him furiously. "Or may not" He stammered while looking back at her, making Melissa smile back at Edward.

Without even hesitating, and without her knowledge, Edwards grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him making her hands rest on his chest. He forcefully kissed her deeply as he knew she wouldn't be able to do anything stupid right in front of the crowd and her parents.

After breaking loose from the kiss, Melissa took some steps away from him trying to catch her breath.

"You don't know who you're messing with dick head" She spat using the pad of her thumb to wipe her lips clean.

"Get your hands off me this instant, why the hell would I sleep in the same room with you?" Melissa asked trying to free her hands from his grip, but he wasn't letting go.

"Because you're my wife you fool, where else would you sleep?" Edward retorted.

"Anywhere else but here. I would never sleep in the same bed with you. Just living under the same roof with you gives me the chills and it's irritating enough, so let me go" Melissa stormed back at him, and even though it hurt her badly, she forcefully pulled her hands away from his and ended up caressing her wrist.

Edward lifted both his hands like he had finally surrendered. "Alright, fine. Do whatever you feel like, but that doesn't stop me from touching you whenever I want it"

Melissa chuckled, "Keep dreaming" and responded before walking out on him.

She forcefully closed the door behind her and leaned on it, trying to breathe and be at ease. "No, he wouldn't force himself on her, even if animals do the same, but he wouldn't."

Edward remained in his room and on his bed impatiently waiting for someone. When his phone finally buzzed, he grabbed it within seconds and began heading down the stairs to the living room.

"You're here." He said and walked toward her, pulling the young lady into a desperate kiss.

"You still haven't changed a bit, Edward. First of all, where's that wife of yours?" She asked, her words coming gradually each time she had the opportunity to speak up.

"You didn't come here to talk about her, did you? We should get down to the main business" Edward replied and began taking off his shirt.

"Who the hell would starve you baby, to hell with them" She whispered to his ears helping him take off his shirt.

Melissa could swear she started hearing weird noises, at first it never bothered her, but when it continued, she stepped out of her room and began taking the stairs down to the living room.

The young lady's moaning sounds were the worst melissa heard as she watched them, her so-called husband brought in a slut the same day they got married.

"For God's sake, get yourself a room will you?" Melissa said after standing for a while and watching the fool people would call her husband.

She shook her head in despair, blaming herself for not running away the night her dad had brought home the bad news to her.

"What the hell am I even saying, carry on. Seems like you're both having fun" Melissa said and turn to head back to her room.

" Shouldn't you be bothered Eddy," The young lady asked a bit scared. Edward stopped his movement on her thighs and looked at her.

"Finish whatever is it you came here to do and you leave with your money. Stop bothering yourself with my wife." Edward retorted as he was beginning to lose interest in what he desperately wanted before.

"Shit, that's it. We're done. Get out" He said again sitting upright on the sofa while leaning towards the center table to get a huge bundle of cash.

"Here," He said handing the money to her. "That's more than enough till I need you again".

Edward stood up on his feet and started towards the stairs. "See yourself out, you won't sleep over today." His voice was strict without sentiment not even a little.

Immediately Melissa got into her room, she fell on her bed facing the ceiling. There was no one to talk to and her life together with fate just decided to ruin her existence more.

This wasn't the love she had dreamt about, it was way more than this as she had always imagined herself staying up late to wait for the man she loves to come back home and embrace her while rubbing her hair gently.

A drop of tear escaped her eyes, but Melissa couldn't raise her voice to cry either. The pain her little but delicate heart was feeling was way too much to be handled alone.

Deterred, she lifted herself from the bed, took her handbags close to her, and walked out of the room.

Before Melissa could reach for the door to step out of the sitting room, Edwards's voice startled her.

"Young lady, where'd you think you're going?" He asked reaching for a bottle of liquor at the counter.

"And why should that be of any concern to you?" Melissa retorted. Though she swore to ignore his every word, but replied to him instead. "Stay away from me and every other thing that has to do with me. I won't ever stop you from bringing as many ladies you want into this house, so don't you ever concern yourself with what I do and who I choose to have fun with" Melissa yelled and turned the door knob with an erratic breath.
